OUR EFFORTS LED US TO THE CREATION OF OUR OWN SIMILAR CANDY:
SOUR LUDES™ :
We started this project because Altoid Sours were one of our favorite candies. The Altoid Sours came in awesome flavors like Tangerine, Raspberry, Mango, Citrus and Apple. They quietly were discontinued and disappeared off the shelves of stores and every so often we get a terrible craving for the candy. We figured out we weren't alone since thousands of other people were screaming to bring them back!
We saw numerous heart felt emotional comments on Reddit posts, blogs, Facebook Pages and even a few Change.org Petitions to bring them back:

Now we are bringing them to Kickstarter to build a community of supporters to get them back! Like we mentioned in the video each time we hit $200,000 we can introduce a new flavor!

Where are Sour Ludes™ Made?
Our friends in Great Britain have long been known for their hard confectionary candy manufacturing skills. We are working with a 3rd generation candy factory that has been in business close to a hundred years. They already produce over 2,000,000 candies a day and are very well equipped to handle small or large orders for Sour Ludes ™.
What is the money going to be used for?
Production runs for candy have to happen in very high volumes which is why we are setting our goal at $100,000 and keeping the price as low as we can. It lets us order a "truck load" of candy which is the minimum order quantity in the candy industry. Please share it with as many of your friends as possible so we can get this party started!
At this goal level we have enough money to produce enough Sour Ludes™ to ship out to all our customers and produce the custom molds for the candy shape and tin!

Risques et défis
Timing is our biggest challenge. As of right now we have gone through all the steps of making sure the product is manufacturable and meets all of our safety/legal standards. Over all candy manufacturing is relatively a streamlined process once the formula has been worked out. We have all the kinks out of the way from our sample making as well. Sometimes a manufacturer may have to push back the date when we can begin reserving floor time in the facility for our product to get into production. Again timing is the biggest risk here! The contract manufacturer has great quality assurance and quality control processes to make sure the candy tastes the way its supposed to. Usually there is a 1% margin of error, meaning that some of the candy pieces might be broken or colored a little less or more. If anything is way out of the ordinary with your candy tin, send us a picture and we will ship you a new one free of charge!
There is also the concern of bulk shipping timelines as sometimes there are storms and other acts of god that can cause things to go wrong. We have opted for insurance on all our goods which is built into the cost of each tin we are selling. That way if the goods are destroyed or lost when in transit, we can always go back to the factory and get a second run of them. This is very unlikely but crazy things do happen and its good to be prepared!
We will keep everyone informed of our schedule adjustments and will communicate delays asap when they develop.
