HOOORAY! We done reached our GOAL! Now, it's TIME TO STRETCH!
It appears that the soul of banditry is alive and well! We bandits have been jumping with joy for the past month! Thanks to hundreds of generous backers, we've made our goal, and made it early, so we're upping the ante with a STRETCH GOAL!
If we make it to $15,000 by 5pm on Friday, December 4th, we'll be able to produce a bonafide bandit music video, with an equal amount of bells and whistles as our album! And everybody who has contributed to the cause will be invited to the shooting to be a part of the fun!
So Jump for Joy! Leap for Love! And tell everyone you know to get on this Bandit Wagon!
Hey there, Kickstarters!
We, Bandits on the Run, are putting together the funds to record and release a full length, multi-tracked album, to you, our beloved public. One with all the bells and whistles that the true spirit of banditry deserves! With your help, we could create the blast that propels us into the music scene at large and even score a record deal!
Up to now...
The Bandits Three (Roy Dodger, Bonanza Jellyfish, and Clarissa) have been hard at work for a year and half making musical mischief of all kinds in and around NYC: conducting musical hold ups in the subway, kidnapping hearts at weddings (don’t worry, we got them back safely), bravely taking over top 40 radio waves, and stealing song after song from the rich to give to the poor. We’re proud of our ability to throw a fun little wrench in the daily commutes of New Yorkers. We’ve been responsible for videos like this one. We’ve scored films like this one. And most importantly: we’ve amassed a serious collection of original bandit tunes, written and wrangled and decked out in our devious three-part harmony. Now all we need is a professional criminal record to show the world and score a chance at real, live infamy.
Now, here's the rub:
Our countless hours of petty criminal whimsy haven’t amounted to much more than a few hundred dollars in the Bandits can. Folks ask us whether we’re on Spotify and iTunes, where they can find a recording of one of our songs, and if we’ve been signed, and it breaks our wee bandit hearts to have to respond with a no (“No” is the most abhorrent crime of all, in these bandits’ opinion). You see, our recordings to date (mostly recorded live from our cohorts' living rooms) haven’t captured the fullness of an in-person musical stick-up. Making a good, quality set of recordings takes getting our hands on a good space and precision recording equipment, and getting the folks with the right know-how on board. So far, we’ve been getting by on our charm and good looks alone. Now we just need a little cash to make this leap.
With your help,
We’ll be able to make a whole hog, radio-ready album of Bandit Originals that we can release to the masses. That song you heard that’s been running through your head since you nabbed a glimpse of us at Bedford Avenue? It’ll finally be out and about in the world for YOUR listening pleasure. We’ll be able to fine-tune those moments of harmonic havoc, add in the stomps and the kicks, and bring in our favorite guest bandits to play that recorder-solo we’ve always dreamed of! And IF you donate to our criminal cause, you could score yourself of a digital download, a signed CD, or your very own personal bandits hold-up. But regardless of the sweet rewards you will undoubtedly secure a place in our hearts. We Bandits would be nothing (NOTHING!) without your stolen hearts!!!

A VHS style recording of a Bandits original ("Paris") from the Music Inn World Instrument Shop. This song will DEFINITELY be on the album.
Risks and challenges
We want to have this album recorded, mixed, mastered, and produced by the best we can find, and we are still finalizing the details of where, when, and with whom to record. Since our route isn’t yet set in stone, there is of course the slightest chance of unforeseen setbacks. Also, since all of us bandits are actors to boot, there is always the chance that one of us will be called away to do a play, film, or TV show at any given time. In the event of any of these setbacks, you can rest assured that the bandits will settle for nothing less than the best, and if the best takes a bit longer to deliver, we will keep all of our backers informed and in the loop.
