The game is being printed in Prague, and shipped from Germany, thus shipment throughout the EU should attract no import duty.
For our customers in America and Australia, we are shipping the games to our agents there, and again you should not suffer any import duty (we absorb that in your pledge).
For other customers, there may be import duties and taxes applicable depending on the country and your relationship with the EU.Last updated: -
No, I can't wait to play the finished game myself. Kickstarter is to make the game accessible to a wider audience, and most importantly to guide us as to how many to produce. If the game doesn't do ok we may decrease the total print run, and if it does well we shall increase it (update day 9, we won't be doing the former).

Over the years we have sold over 60,000 copies of various editions of World in Flames, 50,000 copies of the other games in the series (America in Flames, Patton in Flames and Days of Decision) and over 120,000 copies of the kits, expansions and T-shirts etc that go with the game.and thus there is a thriving community of wiffers out there.
To help you establish a great local wif community I will put up a blog on our website, www.a-d-g.com.au, where you can give your name and address or email address, whatever you prefer, allowing others in your area to contact you. No matter how small you're community you will be surprised how close other wiffers are to you.
Finally there is a great virtual WiF community run selflessly for many years by Devin Cutler. You'll get all your rules queries answered, some interesting strategies discussed and perhaps even find your next opponent here http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/wifdiscussion.
And just a few days ago Phillip Mansfield has generously started a WIF facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/1574341082623164/) so we can the old band back together.

Yes, currently there are two, one in the US in Michigan usually around August. The contact for this convention is Jerome Lavis at <lavisj@yahoo.fr> and I will post more info on the links section of our website, https://www.a-d-g.com.au/pages/links, as soon as it becomes available.
There is also an imminent convention in Hofgeismar Germany starting in a month's time, from October 6 - October 14 and you can still get a guernsey if you give Marcus Schaeffer a hoy at eurowif@web.de or via his website, www.eurowif.de.
Nice friendly atmosphere, great group of gamers, caters for all skill levels and gaming styles, good gaming hall (a schuetzen halle no less) and great hotel, and all very very reasonably priced.

Totally. Everything in the Collector's edition is BRAND NEW and completely integrated. Everything in the collectors edition deluxe is every combat unit you will need to play World in Flames, and nothing not in the Collector's edition deluxe that is a combat unit do you keep. So for example keep the political stuff from PoliF and the factories from FiF, but all the combat counters from those games go in the bin.
Every unit in wif deluxe is individualised. No two units are the same. All the counters are now completely integrated so for example wif gives you all the most common aircraft. Planes in Flames gives you more of those models (but note different types and marks) and then gives you a bunch of other lesser known or never known units. No unit is the same all the units are interleaved. The PiF aircraft have been expanded forwards and backwards in time so you get aircraft from the early 30s to the mid 50s, so that now Planes in Flames and Ships in Flames are fully compatible with Days of Decision, America in Flames and Patton in Flames and 5 of the 10 new scenarios included in our 20 campaign campaign book are the DoD, AiF and PatiF campaigns including PiF and SiF units. Even though there are overall 32 more aircraft than wif7, because they are spread out, the force pools are much tighter now and you will be advance building (researching) more. But the upside is that when you DO advance build, the unit you will get will almost certainly be better than what you have already got (with a few notable and sad exceptions).
We have spent 10 years on this. I hope you will be impressed with the result.

The components for all the games and kits apart from the Collector's edition deluxe game itself are current edition games and components (paper maps and knife cut counters). But they are fully compatible with the Collector's edition expansions that are playable with all the games in the series.
At the moment all the components of the WiF CE Super Deluxe game set (apart from the World in Flames Collector's edition Deluxe game itself) are being sent out from the USA. We will send these components to our European customers straight after the ks pledge ends (Oct 3). Because its only a partial shipment the invoice for the components sent from the USA is US$150 (the rest being the Deluxe game itself which is coming form Germany).
If you prefer to wait, we will have all parts of the WiF CE Superdeluxe game set in Germany after Spiel 2017 and we can send via our agency then (which avoids all import duty as we will already have paid for it). Please leave a note with your pledge if you prefer this option and we will ship it to you after Spiel.

We still don't have precise weights for all the products and we made a mistake not having a separate freight cost for Germany which would obviously be cheaper than our european wide average.
For people picking up from Essen (and assuming it makes it in time) we will refund your freight in euros based on the exchange rate on the day of pickup.
For everyone else, when we actually ship the games we will know exactly what the freight is and will credit you the difference either in cash or if you prefer with a 50% bonus in our games instead.
