About
Re-issuing an absolutely vital collection of educational documentaries for a new generation - on ONE 3-hour DVD!
Almost twenty years ago, with generous foundation and other funding, I produced a series of five documentaries for high school students, including interviews with WORLD WAR II VETERANS and HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS, and about DRIVING SAFETY, MANUFACTURING, and READING.
The response from schools and libraries, in national journals and film festivals was overwhelming (some listed below), but one of the most gratifying was from a local newspaper:
"The only acclaim most educational videos receive are groans and yawns from an ungrateful audience, but Santa Fe producer Jim Terr has assembled a DVD of videos on subjects as diverse as driving safety, World War II and teen reading that's been praised across the nation." -Santa Fe Reporter
The remarkable group of "elders" interviewed, including author Tony Hillerman, speak about incredible trials and experiences with a dignity that is a priceless gift in itself, for young viewers.
The five documentaries were later condensed and issued and distributed to more schools and libraries on a THREE-HOUR DVD called "Five Frightfully Fine Videos".
Reviews in national media included words like "wonderful, riveting, remarkable, fascinating, astounding and compelling," but the bottom line is that this is VITAL, TIMELESS information for young people, and we want to re-issue the DVD for a new generation, and (with your funding) send it to more schools and libraries.
You can help fund the re-issue, and get your own DVD(s) at a very low cost, by pledging. Many more reviews and information and the full background interview are at www.BlueCanyonVideo.com.
I honestly feel that this DVD should be available in every home, for every young person, and I appreciate your help
Risks and challenges
I honestly see little risk in completion, other than Acts of God. I have produced many CDs and DVDs, and in fact this project will be re-manufactured at the original plant, with only slight modifications, and the costs and so on are well-determined, so only Death or Apocalypse are likely to interfere.
