Received my Flatlight about a month ago. Have used it in labs where illumination must be kept low, have used it on redeye airplane flights, have used it at home when I didn't want to disturb my spouse reading. It suited my needs perfectly each time. Love the product as it provides just enough light, while being easy to carry, lightweight and bright enough to read from. Very cool product gents and well made. This is exactly the kind of product I love investing in on Kickstarter. Thanks!

Received mine today in NW New Jersey - good quality. Light brightness isn't too harsh so looking forward to see how useful. Don't quite understand the mesh which distorts/reduces the light and agree the window of the case should have better fit to the light source square. Glad I supported the project and hopefully Tater Tot got a new bed or blanket... good luck...

Just got mine in! Love it. The thin film on the light side did try to come up at a small section as I peeled on the clear coating. However, it did lay back down and does not seem to be an issue at the moment. Aside from that, it works great!

I got my FlatLight today. I must say it looks phenomenal - really, really professional job here. I'm impressed. The packaging in particular looks like it could come off of a shelf in Newbury Comics - or Brookstone, even.

Make sure you let me know if you think up any new product ideas. I think that packaging is the most impressive I've seen in a Kickstarter item. Looks sexy and sleep - and the light fits in my wallet or pocket very nicely.

One last time - REALLY excellent, professional job here. Kudos!

I just received my FlatLights and they are awesome! The perfect amount of "when you need a little light" kind of light, not overly bright, but just right.

Kudos on a job well done!

I recieved my FlatLight a few days ago, and use it on a regular basis at work. Im regularly wedging myself into small spaces and crammed underneath a machine of some description and find the FlatLight is perfect for confined working spaces. It's not blindingly bright, which is perfect for working with reflective stainless steel, as i do, but is bright enough to work by.

Well done on a very handy product.

Just received mine today in Canada as well. Really like the form factor and thinness.

Regarding the light source itself, did anyone find that the white square light has kind of a greyish grid mesh look to it (similar to the look of how a plastic mesh protects the fluorescent long tubes on the ceiling lights). In the videos, I didn't notice that at all but when I turn it on, that's what I find. I would post an image if I could but I don't think I can through this post.

I just got mine today, and I so far like it. The packaging is great, I wish i kept it but I just threw it out as it will clutter my room(think hoarders). The product it self is great It some times is hard to turn off and needs a heavy push. I also notice the gap on the bottom, But all and all I am very happy with this. I would like to get the chance to buy another. Maybe a V2 later down the road. Thanks Tater!

Got mine yesterday - congratulations on beating the April deadline! You're a first on Kickstarter to actually be early (as opposed to being late which is not uncommon...)

      A few comments:
1] The window or screen is too large for the light source. I've got a good 1/8 - 3/16" gap between the light and the bottom of the screen. Makes the product look less than professional.
2] Light turns on/off if carried in a pocket/wallet or anything where there is a chance the button will be pushed. Short of pulling the batteries there needs to be another switch or mechanism to actually leave the light off.
3] Took a look at the batteries by lifting the back cover and now I have a crease and the back cover isn't laying flat. I'm guessing a few more peeks and the cover won't stay closed. Of course tape can fix this but still...
4] Packaging was nice -- in some ways (don't take this wrong) it seems better than the product.
5] As other have mentioned consider adding a hole for a lanyard or keychain mount.
6] Really think about making this thing rechargable via USB.

Again - congratulations for a good 1st effort!

      Hello Tater,

I just wanted to check that I ordered 3 flat lights in total as I pledged $60 which accounts for $15 shipping and then $45 to cover a total of thee flat lights?

      Thank you,
      Jamie

    35. Trogdor3.small

Creator Trogdor on February 27, 2013

@Byron - that shipping does seem a tad bit high for something this light...having said that, the shipping charges are clearly indicated in each of the pledge levels.

Methinks the time to bring up your concern was prior to the project closing....

      Tater Tot –

It is possible to order more than one FlatLight at a given pledge level? What I have found to be a common practice (after supporting 45 different projects), is to modify one's pledge by multiplying their particular pledge level by the number of units they desire. For instance, if you are at the $15 pledge level and you want 2 FlatLights, you increase your pledge to $30. If you are at the $20 level and you want 2 FlatLights, you increase your pledge to $40...and so on and so-forth. Let me know. Thanks, and keep up the good work. Cheers!

Do you have any stretch goals? Or are you going to use it to help fund future projects?
