No Mercy: Viking Penguins vs Pirate Bears
The battle of War continues with Viking Penguins vs Pirate Bears. A new game by Travis Hanson
The battle continues with a brand new game by travis hanson.
The game of war with a twist continues with new factions, new modifiers and a lot more fun. No Mercy: Pirate Bears vs Viking Penguins is the sequel to my original game of No Mercy: Cats vs Aliens. It is a continuation of the game of war with a twist. You don't need the first game to play. This edition can be played as a stand alone game or combined with other versions of the game which can make the mayhem four times as fun.
The Goal is $10,000
The game production is $5909, Shipping is approximately around $3000. Packaging, surprises, unexpected costs are $1200 and KS fees which are between 5 to 10% of what comes in. This makes the true total needed to be around 11000.
To help offset this I will add another $1500 of my own funds to cover other things that come up. I am the artist on the project and I donate all my art to my own dreams and do not include those costs into the project. Each game is about 100 plus hours of work and design, if not more.
As more backers join the battle, these costs will go up. After running several Kickstarters, I have learned that it is important to be prepared. I have never defaulted, nor do I plan to start now. I want to make sure you have the best experience possible with my Kickstarters.
What's in the box...
Every card is it's own unique illustration. There are no repeats design wise. I wanted each to have it's own flavor, including the modifiers cards. This way the game has a much richer story to it.
How to play the game and an interview with me by Video Jouzu
If you have ever played the game of "War," or have a copy of the original No Mercy then this expansion will be instantly familiar! No Mercy: Pirate Bears and Penguin Vikings can be played as stand alone game or combined to play with No Mercy: Aliens vs Cats edition. The game just keeps getting bigger.
So what happens if both players pull the same card?
Actual Game Play using No Mercy: Cats vs Aliens edition. No Mercy: Viking Penguins vs Pirate Bears is played the exact same way.
Rewards with custom art take a little longer to ship, because I have to draw them. You will likely get two packages, the first one will be the game, and the next one will be the art. The quicker you answer the survey (I use Backer Kit), the quicker the art gets sent. If we have a lot of backers, it will take a bit to complete all of the original work, but I always make it happen. All Copic marker illustrations are on 9x13 bristol board. They are an original and unique piece of art, created just for you.
International Shipping Charges and Why....
International Shipping. Due to shipping costs rising all over the world for us, we have to charge extra for shipping. Currently, it costs around $22 USD to ship two games to Australia. This is actually the norm for most areas - between $15 and $22. If we offered free shipping, it would eat up all the money that will be used for production, and that would make everybody sad. We do NOT want people to be sad.
Who did all the artwork. All the artwork and game mechanics were designed by me. It's what I do best. I have been creating books and illustrations for 20 years. I love Kickstarter and how it has been able to help me and other illustrators create some fantastic projects. A special thanks to Darne for the flats, and all the advice from so many friends who have helped me work out the game kinks, and edits for this page.
Risks and challenges
There are always risks with every project. After 7 projects, I have come to realize that as you can hope everything to run smoothly, but that is not always the case. Sometimes, things just happen.
For instance, shipping can be delayed. The boat could sink. You could miss the e-mail with the survey from Backerkit or Kickstarter (this happens a lot). The computer with all the files could explode... a variety of reasons.
Though I cannot predict all the things that could happen, I know that the most important thing is to keep communication open with my backers. Those who have backed my previous projects know this to be true, you will find I am easy to contact.
My goal is to make this project run as smoothly as possible. If there is a bump, which happens from time to time, I will let you know about it. I won't keep you in the dark. My goal is to run my projects clean, smoothly and very open. Thank you for your support.
