I love games. I have always enjoyed working on and playing games, but deep down I have always wanted to create my own game. I want to create games that are simple, engaging, and fun. A game with good art and a fun twist. So here it is, my newest adventure based on the simple game "War" and taking it to a whole new level of fun!
The goal is $8500
- The game production is $5000
- Shipping is aprox $1600 to $2000
- Packaging, surprises, unexpected costs and KS fees $1500
- Plus I will add another $1500 of my own cash to cover extra goodies not mentioned in the Kickstarter. Making the true total needed 10k
As more backers join the battle, these costs will go up. After running several Kickstarters, I have learned that it is important to make to be prepared. I have never defaulted, nor do I plan to start. I want to make sure you have the best experience possible with my Kickstarters.
How to play the game and an interview with me by Video Jouzu
Had a blast talking with them about the game...
The best news is that the game art is completed, and the game is at the playtesting stage. I just need to finish the game box (which I will post), finish the 10 custom cards, and then finish the edits for the rule book and modifier cards. This game is almost completed.
Box Cover art
Here is the box design. This will give you an idea on how a box lays out. The goal is to make the box look appealing and have the most important information needed to encourage it to be picked up.
Designing the box cover was really fun and I cannot wait to add the expansion packs to it as well. It is now in edits. Why? Well, I'm an artist and artist need editors:)
Enjoy and come check the game out...
If you have ever played the game of "War," than "No Mercy" will be instantly familiar. "No Mercy" follows the same game mechanics, but there is a twist that can really change how the game is played...
So what happens if both players pull the same card?
So what do you get when you support this project?
NEW REWARD (name one of the cards)
Rewards with custom art take a little longer to ship, because I have to draw them. You will likely get two packages. One will be the game, and the other will be the art. The more quickly you answer the survey (I use Backer Kit), the more quickly the art gets sent. If we have a lot of backers, it will take a bit to complete all of the original work, but I always make it happen. All Copic marker illustrations are on 9x13 bristol board. They are an original and unique piece of art, just for you.
International Shipping charges and why....
International Shipping. Due to shipping costs rising all over the world for us, we have to charge extra for shipping. Currently, it costs around $22 USD to ship two games to Australia. This is actually the norm for most areas - between $15 and $22. If we offered free shipping, it would eat up all the money that will be used for production, and that would make everybody sad. We do NOT want people to be sad.
Who did all the artwork.
All the artwork and game mechanics were designed by me. It's what I do best. I have been creating books and illustrations for 20 years. I love Kickstarter and how it has been able to help me and other illustrators create some fantastic projects. A special thanks to Darne for the flats, and all the advice from so many friends who have help me work out the game kinks, and edits for this page.
Risks and challenges
There are always risks with every project. After 6 projects, I have come to realize that as you hope everything to run smoothly, that is not always the case. Sometimes, things just happen.
For instance, shipping can be delayed. The boat could sink. You could miss the e-mail with the survey from Backerkit or Kickstarter (this happens a lot). The computer with all the files could explode... a variety of reasons.
Though I cannot predict all the things that could happen, I know that the most important thing is to keep communication open with my backers. Those who have backed my previous projects know this to be true, you will find I am easy to contact.
My goal is to make this project run as smoothly as possible. If there is a bump, which happens from time to time, I will let you know about it. I won't keep you in the dark. My goal is to run my projects clean, smoothly and very open. Thank you for your support.
