Help Us Continue Talking Machines
Talking Machines is your window into the world of machine learning. Hosts Katherine Gorman and Ryan Adams bring you clear conversations with experts in the field, thorough introductions to fundamental concepts and insightful answers to your questions.
With new episodes published every two weeks, since January 2015, Talking Machines has quickly become the foremost source for thoughtful information about machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Talking Machines is the way researchers learn about each other’s work, and non-experts learn about the cutting edge of the field. In order to sustain itself and grow, Talking Machines’ parent company, Tote Bag Productions, is raising money to continue the show.
With the money we raise we will:
- Travel to conferences for interviews to air during season two
- Pay for a real studio to tape season two in
- Pay for production and editing costs
- Expand our online offerings
- Update some of our older equipment
Help Us Reach Our Stretch Goal and Develop a New Show!
If we can raise 75,000 dollars, Tote Bag Productions will be able to start planning our second show. We can't tell you much about it now but it will be another podcast focused on the reality of scientific research (spoiler alert: probably in the life sciences!)

Risks and challenges
After half a year of production Talking Machines has established a reputation for through, unbiased coverage. Because of the success we've had so far, we expect the project to continue through the end of the first season. If we can raise the funds, production pressures of season two will be essentially the same as season one.
As long as our scheduling assumptions for reward production are correct we should have all your Talking Machines swag ready for you in time!
