Holy cow! As of 7:30 am on August 18th we have reached our original goal of $250! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Why not raise the stakes? We would love to receive additional donations to continue to offset production costs for AMERICAN MYTHOLOGY, VOL. 1 as well as future Buran Theatre Company shows. Thanks again for all of your wonderful generosity.
Now in its fifth year of producing, Buran Theatre Company has chosen five short plays from five emerging playwrights to stage its west-coast premiere of American Mythology, Vol. 1. Both comedic and profound, these new works cull through our collective family photo album and expose the distorted remembered histories of our loved ones.
In order to get this production up on its feet - we need your help. Your monetary contribution will assist us in promoting the show to the public, creating props, sets and costumes, renting performance space, and ensuring a successful performance run.
Performances are September 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th at 8 pm with a 6:30 pm performance on the 12th. The performances are at studio/stage located at 520 North Western Avenue, Hollywood, CA, 90004.

Buran Theatre Company was founded in 2005 at the University of Kansas with the intent of producing new work without charging students and the community admission, while working in an environment sensitive to exploration and creation. Buran has now produced in New York City, Kansas City, Lawrence, Albuquerque, and Vilnius Lithuania with satellites in NYC, Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles, Lawrence, Kansas City, Albuquerque, and Vilnius - with the international aim to produce new works by new voices for new audiences, while bridging the gap between spectator and actor
To this end, Buran typically creates work that is organically ensemble based and community oriented in practice. We seek new audiences for a new structure that approaches the event of performance as the possibility for inclusion, one that performs before and after entering the venue.
