@Yannic Kränz - No trouble at all.

Desktops will never be the past. The PC users pledged about $80,000, without them this would not have succeeded

Actually, the addition of the PC and Mac versions themselves didn't make THAT much of an improvement, and the project would still have failed. The real spike in the funding came after the #KeepHopeAlive movement began (May 2nd). Without that the PC and Mac guys who disregarded the project earlier on may never had known that those two platforms were now supported. Also, if the game does well, perhaps we'll see it on other devices in the future.

    4. Alec Chalmers on

Fantastic!! Now do your magic :D Can't wait to play it

    5. Siegfried Stahl on

Personally, iOS is where it is at for me. Desktops are the past, the future is heading elsewhere, so I am excited to see better quality iOS games.

    6. Joseph Acosta on

I giggle at that past April 26th, the funding started to increase at a much faster rate than before. If you guys had made the game entirely for iPhone, you would've failed. You can say "You'd never know" or "I think we could've made it", but it's clear from the graph that funding was absolutely stagnant until you announced PC/Mac versions and it started to pick up. For one though - I'm very glad it got funded, because it looks fun as all get out. And it's nice of you to consider iPhone as a platform that 'could' have good games developed for it, but it simply doesn't have the gaming PRESENCE like the 3DS, and that stubbornness was killing you until you acquiesced to the public's desires for a PC version. So good save at that - and ignore those on the gaming handheld side who scoff at the idea of iPhone games, as well as those on the iPhone side who whimper and whine about how it's not just for them anymore, because if it weren't for the PC users - this Kickstarter would've crashed and burned.

You guys really think that the PC people put in more money than the Apple people? Ha.

Yes, congratulations. 1 Week ago I really didnt though Republique would made it.

Can someone tell me where I can find this page where you enter a Kickstarter project and it gives you information/statistics on it (prognosis, funding progress etc).

@Ronald Wanders: Yeah, especially with RPS pulling the dirties move of them all - cute kitties! How could they! :)

I'm glad you guys achieved your goal, I'm glad to support a project that tries to do something new and different.

Congrats to everyone involved in the production of the game! I'm looking forward to the game as well as the soundtrack. I trust you, Ryan! I'm amazed that so many helped out during the last 24 hours. Greetings from Sweden.

    25. Ronald Wanders on

I'm guessing both the and calls to action did quite a bit for the last stretch. With the Destructoid one coming in at 30 hours and the RPS one coming at 12 hours before the end. :)

      @Terrence, the iOS-only $10 and $25 pledges brought in $34,070, while desktop-only $15 and $30 pledges brought in $49,620.

I have to admit I pledged because of the PC version, but after seeing one of the videos where someone was toying with the iPad demo ... I increased my pledge, and am very much looking forward to both versions!

    32. Karsten Kopplin on

Wow, another close one. Not as close as Starlight Inception buy yowza.
Great it worked out, this is too interesting a project to not be part of it!

Woo-hoo! So happy this was successful!

    34. Nicholas Taylor on

Terrence, that's obviously not true since more than half of the funding came from desktop pledges.

    35. MatthiasG on

I'm happy for this project :). A week ago I thought: "This is 90% not going to work out but hell, I'll give it a fair chance and back this project" and then it went soooo well. WOW.

    36. Tom Hammerheart on

@Ravi: How can you be sure of this? Have they come out and said what they will do if they don't get the proper funding for this?

    37. Ryan Eames on

friggin' sweat! need my awesome stealth actioness! ;)

Tom - it gives them creative control over the ip that 500k ,they wont pocket the money

fantastic work guys this was one of the biggest comebacks in kickstarter

    40. Terence Bowlby on

Next time, have faith in your initial vision! The non-iOS rewards only account for around one-tenth of your intial goal.

    41. John Morrow on

YES!!! I'm soo happy this made it, I am really looking forward to this game!

    42. Tom Hammerheart on

Alright, I'm sure someone has asked this before, but I don't feel like digging around. I just read Camouflaj said, "We estimate that Republique will cost north of $1 million to complete. After months of meetings and due diligence, we believe that we can raise the necessary additional funds to complete Republique from potential outside investors, but there is some risk that our efforts will be unsuccessful." So, what if this isn't happening, what if the game doesn't reach the $1 million mark? Are they going to pocket our $500k?

    43. Greg Stiffler on

Crazy! I did NOT think this was going to get funded. Was kind of sad because I was looking forward to Republique more than any of the other games I've backed. This is pretty exciting!

    44. Jonathan Stein on

      Congratulations! :D
You also got mentioned in Penny Arcade today:

    45. Torrey Holbrook Walker on

Wow, currently that's an average of $50 per backer. Guess we really want this game, huh? ;-)

    46. Stoic
