WHY?
Are you tired of having to tell someone to straighten out the cups or ask them to move one back into place after it shot across the table? Are you ready to experience the best? We are, and we're sure you are too.
Introducing Hexcup, the world's best beer pong cups. We set out to make an unparalleled product, and we think we have hit the mark.

Our research told us that there are three features which will solve the biggest problems plaguing the cups currently offered for the game of beer pong. Being mechanical engineers, we had the training necessary to properly bring these elements together into the best beer pong cup that the world has seen. Our cups deliver:
- Perfect Re-racks in 1/4 the Time With No Gaps
- No Ghosting (movement during play)
- Exceptional Durability

We've already purchased a mold and paid for our manufacturer to run a sample lot which turned out in perfect form with exceptional quality. We've also teamed up with patent lawyers to submit US patent and trademark applications which will solidify our company's future. Now we are ready to order a production quantity run of these awesome cups and put Hexcup on the market.
There's one catch: due to the nature of the manufacturing process, we must make these cups in large run orders to get the cost to an acceptable level. We need your help to pool together the capital required to place this first (quite sizable) production order. If you help us to meet our goal, you''ll be the very first to use the best beer pong cups ever made.
Below is the work we will complete and the time we expect to elapse while doing so. We want to keep you in the loop as much as possible, after all, it is only because of our backers that this can become a reality.

FEATURES
Our Patent Pending shape breaks the surface tension of liquids on the table allowing the cup to stay stationary during the game, so when you are on fire you don't get robbed like a newb.

As this recovered torture test specimen shows: Hexcup will take it's shape back after heavy abuse. It usually pops back to original form with only minor scaring, and it resists splitting. This should come in handy if games get a little rowdy.
Our honeycomb inspired design eliminates wasted space and allows for some pretty interesting re-racks that can be in any shape or logo you can image. Since the cups nest so closely together, you can have a perfect re-rack, every time.

THE PROCESS
We started the design process in the late months of 2014. From simple conceptual drawings we worked our way to a 3D model, and eventually a 3D printed prototype. The prototype held water - literally, and proved out our ideas. It was the first physical embodiment of the cup we had seen. It got us really excited about the project!

In the next few months, with growing enthusiasm, we quickly pushed through to a design with the ideas and features represented in the cups shown above. We were excited to get the first engineering drawing completed. After choosing a production process we changed some of the elements for manufacture-ability. We went through four drawing iterations and finally ended with a cup that was robust, attractive, and met all of our design criteria. Then we took a step and pulled the trigger. We laid down chunk of our savings and purchased a stainless steel mold. We crossed our fingers that the model was perfect.
It turned out great! The tooling guys did an awesome job, and several weeks later we had a sample to prove it! We analyzed and tested the samples with excellent results which has us even more excited at this point. It has been a thrilling journey, a learning process, and a fun project. We're closing the book on the design portion of the project. Now we hope you can help us take this to next level.
