About this project
Recording our debut full-length album "Adventures" right NOW!
Hello! We are Nevada Color, an indie-pop band from Pittsburgh, PA. We are 5 guys that love to make music, travel the world, and eat pizza. Our band is made up of Quinn Wirth, Max Kovalchuk, Chris Cichra, Adam Valen & Jeremy Westhead.
We have been hard at work over the past year and a half writing the best music we can possibly write, and we're excited to finally be putting together our DEBUT full-length album "Adventures". This album is going to be the culmination of hard work, great friends, and a lot of fun. Over the past year, we've ran our first set of summer tour dates, recorded a Daytrotter session (even named "Song of the Day"!), and played CMJ 2013 with some pretty cool bands.
We consider ourselves a DIY band. Everything we do is completely independent: no label support, no agency, no investors backing us. This means that everything that we have done, we have done ourselves with the support of you all and we're proud of everything that you have helped us accomplish. Because of that, we always pay close attention and care about YOU, the fans. We are making this record for YOU, and want to bring the most amount of pleasure to your ears as possible!
We are very fortunate to have our good friend Dave Cerminara (Legs Like Tree Trunks) produce and engineer our first record. We've grown a very good relationship with Dave over the past couple of months and were ecstatic when he told us he wanted to help us make this record. We will be spending the next couple of months at Treelady Studios, going in and out of the studio periodically to play shows, finish school, and work our jobs. We are also lucky enough to have Garrett Haines master the record at Treelady. We will be hard at work with Dave to put together a 10-11 track album.
What we're bringing to you is a 35+ minute adventure wrapped and packaged into a CD. Adventure is the basis of this record, and we want you to experience this adventure with us. Life is an adventure, and no matter the hand that is dealt we've always chose to make the best of it.
Why we need YOU
This process of recording of a record isn't easy. The true support and why bands succeed is because of YOU. We would not have pushed ourselves so hard, and accomplished what we have without our friends, family, and our fans. Your support is essential to help complete this project. We want to be able to make the best possible product for all of you! We promise every dollar donated/invested will be used to recording and making a great album. AS A DONATOR/INVESTOR, you have the right to know exactly what you're investing your money into, and to see how it's being used. With that being said, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will set up a meeting to show you the studio and how your money is being used.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us get to where we are: The Wirth family, the Kovachuk family, the Cichra family, the Valen family, the Westhead family, Dave Cerminara, Garrett Haines, Treelady Studios, Jay Vega, Drusky Entertaiment, Pittsburgh City Paper, Drew Bayura, any blog who has ever gave us a shoutout, any friend who has helped hook us up with a show, a place to crash, gave us a slice of pizza, every venue we've played at, Jimmy John's (for being so good to our bellies), the staff at Point Park, all of our friends, and especially YOU the fans. Thank you for everything!
Risks and challenges
There are a few things that could delay the production of the record + more, but don't fret (it shall be done!):
• Scheduling conflicts
• Mixing/Mastering delays
• Carpal tunnel (from playing too much Mario Bros. in the studio)
• Instrument/studio malfunctions
• Writing more music in the studio
• Garrett shuns us forever
