Artformz is an artist-run space in Miami, Florida. We’ve been exhibiting artist's shows for 6 years but this project is the beginning of something global. We hope to include the world community in our project – we can’t wait to make new friends through Kickstarter… and to say “hi” to older friends. We believe that art is universal that has the ability to open dialogue between cultures. Our latest project, “ARTIST INVITES ARTIST”, is an art exhibit developed by artists in Miami, Florida and Valencia, Spain that provides both the artists and their communities an extraordinary experience and international exposure for their creative work.
To make this project really have lasting impact for our community and especially for the artists we need the artists to be there. We need help your help getting the artwork and "us" to Spain and back. This amazing opportunity will open possibilities of artistic advancement and social networking between the two cities. Artists from each country have been invited to create works for the event, to be presented in exhibits in both cities. The shows are co-curated by Alette Simmons-Jimenez (Artformz in Miami) and Cristina Ghetti (Red-Nomade in Spain).
Red-Nomade, along with the Cultural Council of Godella (Valencia), has offered Miami artists a formal letter of invitation and will host the show in a beautiful exhibition hall: “Casa de la Cultura de Burjassot”. In Valencia the exhibit will run for two weeks and will include scheduled visits to Art Museums and institutions in their, along with a public panel discussion with artists from both cities. The exhibition opens October 14th, 2010 in Valencia. Then in May of 2011, Artformz will welcome the artists from Spain, host the exhibition, cultural tours, and panel discussion, completing the cycle.
We will be so grateful for your help and you'll feel so warm and wonderful knowing your pledge will go 100% towards travel and shipping expenses for the Miami artists.
