THE SINGAPOREAN DREAM is a fun and interactive card game where you can pay, steal or sabo your way to be the perfect Singaporean.
First, choose a classic Singaporean Personality. Will you be the grumpy Aunty? The Complain Queen or the Ah Beng?
The goal of the game is to get as many Dream Cards as you can before the Dream Pile runs out. Like everything in Singapore, these Dreams come at a price. You can buy the Dream Cards with Cash Cards or gain them with Action Cards.
There are a variety of Action Cards that let you gain or steal Dreams and Cash from your target players! Watch out for some really powerful cards that can help to turn the game around!
On each turn, draw two cards from the Action Pile.
And play up to two actions.
How far will you go to achieve The Singaporean Dream?
In each deck of The Singaporean Dream, you can expect to receive:
- 104 cards printed on high quality cardstock
- Uniquely illustrated cards of hilarious Singaporean references
- Foldable instruction manual + drinking game for those of the legal age ;)
- Hours of fun, laughter and entertainment

Hi! My name is Theresa and I am the creator / illustrator / saikang warrior of The Singaporean Dream.
The concept of "The Singaporean Dream" came about as I was graduating from university and saw friends around me rush to get a job (myself included) / BTO flats / plan for marriage. I then thought to myself "Is this truly The Singaporean Dream?"
Armed with self-doubt and confusion, I set out to make a card game that highlights Singapore in all our beauty and flaws. I never got my answers, but I did manage to create this silly game.
From learning how to draw to spending hours getting paper cuts in the printing shop and forcing all my unwilling friends to play this card game, it's been a huge journey of learning and fun:
This project has taken close to a year in the making and not without its fair share of missteps and failures. I have put my heart and soul into creating this card game for you and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do :)

LIVE FUNDING WITH WE THE PEOPLE
We'll be live-funding at We The People Store at Millenia Walk #02-57 for the duration of the Kickstarter Campaign! Come by to say hi, touch and feel the product and learn more about our Kickstarter journey.
We The People Store is the only physical store in the world to exclusively retail products funded with the community Kickstarter. They have 5 stores in Singapore and 1 store in Korea. They have spaces in store dedicated to live-kickstarter campaigns where creators can display their prototypes and engage with customers, turning them into backers. An online to offline initiative.
If you'd like to see how the game works, The Singaporean Dream is available for play at The Mind Cafe, Settlers Cafe and Singapore International Board Game Meet-ups (Card Board Crew)
Risks and challenges
Being the kiasu Singaporean I am, I've spent nights worrying about what could possibly go wrong with the campaign and narrowed it down into these three:
The plan is go into production with one of our shortlisted printers immediately after this Kickstarter campaign ends so that you will get the product in your hands as soon as possible. Production is usually the bane of all Kickstarter campaigns which is why I've decided to keep the production of this Kickstarter run in Singapore to keep a closer eye on the quality and to reduce the chances of delays with shipping / product getting stolen by pirates at sea.
2) BACKER REWARDS AND STRETCH GOALS
To thank you guys for being so sweet, I've added a couple kickstarter-exclusive rewards that will be unlocked upon reaching the campaign's stretch goals. Given that I will only start working on these rewards when the stretch goals are met, there is a tiny chance that the campaign might be delayed because of this. Unlikely but still a tiny chance.
The biggest risk here is if the game doesn't get enough funding to get off the ground. Kickstarter has an "All-or-Nothing" policy where the campaign gets $0 funding if the campaign doesn't reach its target. It would mean so much to me if you could help to spread and share the word about this game so it becomes a reality for you (and for me).
As Murphy's law has it: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". I can't promise that everything will go according to plan but I promise to do whatever I can to deliver a quality product by the promised date.
Thanks for sticking by all the way and for all your support!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
