WHAT THIS IS...
Restrung Magazine is a weekly WEB publication with a focus on the sport of racquetball. Inspired by a desire to photograph the sport in all it's diversity, and the personalities involved in the game. Our articles slant towards insight, growth, opinion and independence.
What We Want To Do
Continue doing what we've been doing. Only better. More comprehensively.
Every week we will release content on specific days:
- Mondays and Fridays we will continue our Photo Journals...that will include images of the most recent and important events around the country.
- Wednesdays (Bi Monthly) we will release articles on the personalities that effect the sport in various ways.
- Thursdays we will feature profiles on players living with a passion for the sport, i.e. younger players on the rise, local players impacting their areas, tournament directors who put tons of hours into creating events and anyone who builds up what we do for racquetball.
- AND we will continue to use Facebook daily...tagging and connecting photos and a variety of players...creating synergy throughout the sport.
Having learned just how diverse racquetball is with personalities and places. We will not attempt to be comprehensive in our results coverage. We will not try to be a smarter version of what you can find somewhere else.
What we will do is profile as many major events as possible, both indoor and outdoor, in the US and out, document the occasions, the people and the meaning of it to the greater part of our sport. We will attempt to be comprehensive in our coverage of the different states, countries and communities where racquetball is played seriously...and the styles and personalities in YOUR areas. Together in one place.
These are the places we reach...and we want to start pulling stories from all of them if possible...with help from our members:
U.S., Mexico, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, India, South Korea, Germany, Italy, Australia, United Kingdom, Venezuala, France, Colombia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Japan and Puerto Rico.
We want to showcase players and their stories, their photos...professional and amatuer...to the racquetball community as a whole...making connections... growing this thing.
We see value in sparking dialogue and making our story lines relevant to everyone who picks up a racquet and calls the sport theirs. We also see VALUE in the presentation. Communicating a cool exciting feel and the people in our sport is important to attracting interest into racquetball...which anyone who plays regularly knows there isn't enough of...YET!
We will also continue to aggregate relevant and worthwhile Racquetball Links...links to organizations, blogs, (soon retail sites) and begin reviews based on member feedback on what they do.
See what we've done so far. Photos. ARTICLES.
And we openly share our photos and thoughts daily. Go through our Facebook Timeline. You will find we try to contribute daily...involving and tagging professional players, friends and members. Our desire is to point our cameras at everyone who has a passion for our sport...and share their story.
Facebook feeds have been great in allowing our sport to connect to one another. Along with FB, We will be moving it all to OUR site as a place to further that connection in content...and it's ALL about Racquetball...and YOU.
Reflecting the world of racquetball requires traveling to key events. (and there are a lot of them.) We consider the calendar of events of the following organizations: USAR, IRF, WOR, IRT, WPRO. Story lines, images, meeting and showcasing people, getting to them at the places they work and play...it's what this thing is all about.
Events on our radar:
- USA Racquetball Major events, COLLEGIATE and JUNIOR Events.
- US Open Racquetball
- IRF World Championships
- Pan American Championships
- Key IRT and WPRO Events
- Major World Outdoor Racquetball Events
- MAJOR events outside the U.S., including Mexico and South America
- AND YOUR EVENT
Note: We will be engaging RestrungMag.com members to cover their own events...as we will be sharing those with you also.Video Blogs
You may have seen some of our past buzz videos on our YouTube Channel. We will be creating and regularly uploading VBlogs, that will feature players and events we are attending. We hope to incorporate segments and features produced by members.
Tools For The Job
Along with the travel and logisitical needs...We also need to have proper photographic and media tools. Quality goes a long way in facilitating the capturing and sharing of moments in time...that are relatable to anyone who spends a significant amount of life time playing racquetball... AND and helps us provide a vibrant, unique insight to those with just a passing interest.
Racquetball The SPORT
We believe in a time of resurgence in interest with racquetball... the places, forms and communities, so our hope is to further facilitate the growth of racquetball. Today's player branches out and is open to Indoor and Outdoor. They are developing new skill sets and are enjoying, competing and experiencing all that this growth offers. We SEE it.
We work hard to maintain healthy, open and amicable working relationships with organizations like the International Racquetball Tour, The Women's Professional Racquetball Association, USA Racquetball and World Outdoor Racquetball. We understand that sharing out images with them, for their unrestricted use to promote their organizations, in exchange for synergy, is good for the sport. Their growth is our growth.
We actively LISTEN to our members and want to be able to incorporate the things they most want to see...because we want to see them too.
Some of the the things our members have expressed interest in seeing us focus more on:
- SPOTLIGHTS: Players On The Rise
- More Articles / Photos of Racquetball in Mexico and South America
- More Women Players
- More Articles
- Spotlight Local Clubs / Players
- Get More Photographers Involved / Showcase
Feedback also has us believing that there is more to the sport than just swinging a racquet. We have personalities that are vibrant and interesting. Personalities we can connect to. Members.
We want to broadly focus on member submissions, photos and stories. We want to spotlight how YOU see, play and capture the sport. We want YOU to let us know and show your stuff...
We want to build something special...with YOU...and seriously work on sustaining growing things.

This is an appeal to the Racquetball community and anyone who appreciates what Restrung Magazine is about. We all want growth for our sport. It's a topic that is discussed often.
Restrung has been independently operating as a project since July 2009. Starting off as an idea and a wish to see more for our sport. We are now turning to the Racquetball communities in which we want to unite. Like we believe, there are enough of us in diversity that the passion we feel about our sport can be cool and exciting enough to build on interest.
About your Pledges... you won't get charged unless we meet our goal. YOU make this happen and we NEED you. Without you, there is no RestrungMag.
Much and special thanks to Pablo Fajre of the IRT Network for being so cool and getting this message to us!
