Columbia College Dance/Movement Therapy students want to share our passion for the artform of dance with you. When combined with therapeutic topics, dance becomes rich with meaning and pierces through deeply to the heart. Your kinesthetic senses will come alive, and you will leave the concert a changed human being. Dance truly has that kind of power!
Our Fall Harvest Concert will include works about having the fierce and feisty courage it takes to be a healer during these difficult times, will feature a piece choreographed by teens from the La Rabida Children's Hospital telling their stories of traumatic experiences through movement, and will include a piece originally created in Bosnia to be re-created here, among other works running the spectrum from confronting our own humanity in the face of fear to joyful celebrations of the uniqueness in each one of us.
We'll be performing in the Hamlin Park Auditorium on November 18th if we can get the funding to produce the show. Your contribution will go to renting the theater space and paying the technicians that run the show, and for printing the show programs and tickets. All other expenses will be covered by the dancers themselves.
