Kim Krizan, writer of "Before Sunrise" & "Before Sunset," wrote a tongue-in-cheek book about femme fatales & needs help to print it!
Dear Dolls, Dames, Dishes, Detectives, Scary Mafioso Boyfriends, and Bad Men Everywhere:
Now that I’ve lured you into my lair (okay, my Kickstarter page), let me tell you about my latest project.
I wrote a book. It’s titled Original Sins: Trade Secrets of the Femme Fatale and I wrote it out of sheer love for and fascination with the subject of femme fatales. And it’s finished. Done. Ready to roll. And I’m very excited for you to have it.
I want to give you control over whether this book comes out. This new and quickly-unfolding technology stuff can be an amazing thing, allowing us to remove the flim flam and communicate more directly. So the power is in your hands on this one. You get to decide.
Original Sins: Trade Secrets of the Femme Fatale is a tongue-in-cheek non-fiction book that draws from characters fictional and historical, serious and tabloid ... and I had a ridiculous amount of fun writing it.
After I finished the manuscript for Original Sins, I was extremely fortunate to be able to work with Kellner Book Design’s own Michael Kellner. Michael, employing his famous noir wit, designed the beautiful physical layout of the book, all 266 pages.
The cover photo was shot by the diabolically-talented Julia Sandberg Hansson and Nic Sadler in a studio just under the Hollywood sign.
The book is finished and ready to go to the printer.
Now, of course I could just try to get it into the hands of a publisher. I could also put it online and be done with it. But I thought it would be so much cooler to take it directly to you. As you’ll learn in Original Sins, the femme fatale doesn’t like relying on middlemen. Oh no. She goes after what she wants as directly as possible and what this femme fatale wants is for you to have the book right away.
If we make our goal of $10,000, Original Sins will be printed in soft cover. (I went to the printer and saw his beautiful work. The soft cover version will look and feel great.) But we're hoping we go over our goal, because in that case we might have enough money to print the book with a gorgeous hard cover – and if we have the funds I’ll make that an automatic upgrade. Of course, if you’d prefer to receive a digital copy, you can have it. The success of this project is truly in your hands.
We will be revealing extras on this project's update page, including another video made with talented friends.
So that’s my Kickstarter femme fatale dream and it’s up to you, Doll. I’m very excited for you to have your own copy of Original Sins: Trade Secrets of the Femme Fatale and I thank you sincerely for your interest.
PS— I truly need your help, so please feel free to spread this information like a contagious disease!
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
There are always risks and challenges when working on creative projects. Machines break down. People make mistakes. Meteorites crash into the planet and stuff gets damaged.
But you'll see when you read Original Sins, femme fatales don't give up. They finish what they start, Baby. So when this project is funded, you can be sure you'll get your damned book even if Kim has to pull strings from prison. Blood may be shed, but you're getting your book. Capeesh?
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
