We are starting this project on Kickstarter to spread awareness about fashion issues faced by breast cancer survivors and build a community for these brave women and those who understand and support them. We also want to develop this fashion line so for the first time ever there are racks of items in retailers just like there are for petite, plus-sized, and maternity clothes. We come to Kickstarter to make this collection a reality.
Not having breasts does not mean you cannot be fashionable or have to wear only padded tops. Creative designs and cuts and smart fabrics can change the whole view of women with no breasts. In a fashion world where measurements like 36-24-36 often drive the design process, we are determined to expand the measurements and shapes of fashion.
In 2012 my husband and I launched the Take 5 Boutique in Washington, D.C., which features clothing by hottest young designers from Europe. I dedicate this new collection to my grandmother, who passed away from breast cancer. Her name was Chichek, which means “flower” in English. So I call my line Steel Flower for all the powerful and strong women in the world.
Thank you for your attention and support.

STEEL FLOWER FALL/WINTER 2014
STEEL FLOWER COLLECTION FEATURES:
1) EXCEPTIONAL DESIGN: We have spent the past half-year learning the new body type and working with pattern makers to achieve the exceptional results.
2) HIGH QUALITY FABRICS: We are determined to select premium fabrics and leathers for this collection. The combination of fabrics and exceptional fit will guaranty a luxury feel.
3) QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP: Every piece will be handcrafted with exceptional quality. The Steel Flower collection will be made in New York with close attention to details.
4) OUR GUARANTEE: You will instantly see and feel the difference in designs when you put on this collection. We are so confident that we guarantee it with free returns for store credit (full details below).
To fit an outfit perfectly, you have to know the body you are fitting. The post-mastectomy body is not the same as having a flat chest. When breasts are removed the chest can be concave. To capture each part correctly and make an outfit sit perfectly, we created customized dress forms and patternmaking slopes.
Women are already very sensitive to how fabrics feel on their skin, but more so when they just had mastectomies and are going through chemotherapy and radiation. We ensure that every fabric chosen sits gently on the body and without irritation. It is important for us to find a mix of textures and luxury feel. We are determined to hand-select our fabrics—silk, cotton, wool, and others—and leathers with care so it feels as comfortable as it looks fashionable.
Having the right people make the clothes is critical. That is why we are working with the best manufacturing factories in New York City with the latest equipment and trained professional staff who make the difference.
Try the pieces on and we guarantee that you will love them. If you do not like them for any reason, just contact us and we will send you a pre-paid shipping label to return the items to us. The items will need to be unworn and in their original packaging, and returned within 14 days. Upon receipt, we will issue full store credit to use on our website.
HELP GET PRODUCTION STARTED. GET REWARDED!
We are raising $20,000 to get production started for the Steel Flower line. The funding will be put towards buying the fabrics and hardware and producing the line. Please support us at whatever level where you are comfortable. In return, you can either get a top or bottom from this line if you are a breast cancer survivor, or a "Lifeline" top exclusively designed for Kickstarter project fitting everyone and a pair of our pants and skirts at an amazing price. By selling directly to you online for this Kickstarter project, we can offer you our wholesale price.
COLLECTION AND PLANS
The Steel Flower collection will consist of tops, dresses, bottoms, scarfs, and hats. Ten per cent of the profit made from pants and skirts will be donated to local organizations, to support their worthy mission of educating women about breast cancer. Once we reach our goal, the production of this collection will start immediately and will be delivered to project supporters in September 2014.

Risks and challenges
Once our project is funded:
1) We will order our fabrics, hardware (buttons, zippers, cuffs etc) and hang-tags needed for production. Estimated time of 4 weeks.
2) Production of our collection. Estimated time of 8 weeks.
3) Inspection and shipment of products. Estimated time of 8 weeks.
Below are some of the risks involved in execution of all above and our plans to address them:
Quality Control and Production. Having the right people make the clothes is critical. That is why we are working with the best manufacturing factories in New York City with the latest equipment and trained professional staff who make the difference. However there is always production and manufacturing risk. We will pay close attention to the quality of our products as well as production schedules.
Suppliers. We depend upon suppliers for fabric, threads, zippers, buttons, cuffs, labels and boxes. There are risks in delays. We will be working closely with suppliers to try to mitigate this risk.
Shipment. We will ship our products via USPS, UPS and DHL. There's general risk in reliability of shipping companies.
