After weeks of proofing, double-checking and signing off, all the copies of Collapse have been printed. They were then wrapped in shrink, put on pallets and loaded on a cargo vessel bound for Indianapolis (by way of several other states I am sure). Shortly after the games left the production line, and before they were set afloat, we asked to be shipped an advance copy. You can watch the unboxing video here. We have since taken that single copy of the game everywhere with us. It made the rounds from Chicago to Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and it continues to travel the US with us as we try to give backers the opportunity to play a full production copy of the game before their's ships.
Speaking of ships, we want to introduce you to ours! Collapse has been loaded into a 40-foot shipping container and set out to sea on the "Hanjin Copenhagen". The Copenhagen is 278 meters long, 40 meters wide, and carrying a whole lot of Made In China stickered items. As I write this, the Copenhagen is about to pass by Uinmak Island as it heads into the Gulf of Alaska. We have included a very rudimentary map of it's location, but you can always find its exact position on this live map.
Now for the less than pleasant news. As you might have noticed in the graphic above, there seems to have been a delay somewhere along the line. On top of that, we have been made aware of the possibility of future delays when the ship hits the ports later next week. All in all we hope to be able to ship the game the last week of June.
This puts us shipping the game with a 3-4 week delay. We are TOTALLY bummed about this, but at this point it is out of our control. We will do our best to keep you informed of any new information as we get it, and we will do our part to make sure as soon as everything gets to us, you get your copy as quickly as possible.
Thanks for your continued patience, and we can't wait to hear what you think when your game arrives soon!
