Jacques has been an unwilling resident of The Valley all his life. Named for the massive cliff walls that imprison the empty deserts within, its second most notable feature is how little of note it holds. Jacques has attempted escape from The Valley countless times before to explore the world beyond, but every attempt was met with mysteriously catastrophic failure. Oddly, the other residents do not share his distaste for their home, fueling Jacques' frustration and leaving him to plan his escapes alone.
We join Jacques on the eve of another attempted escape, but little does he know that he’s about to embark on a journey that will reveal what lies beyond those towering walls. If The Valley lets him.

The Wild Wild Pixel is an expansive point and click adventure game that pays homage to its rich ancestry, while carefully introducing modern day game mechanics such as a UI that is both intuitive and user-friendly, without sacrificing gameplay complexity.
There’s also an exciting skit system, companion characters, side quests, mini-games and more! The game's story unfolds over the span of four to five chapters, with each chapter providing roughly five hours of game play. We’re all about immersion and having your actions matter in the long run, no matter how small. You see a stray dog? Find him an owner. A girl’s being bullied? Save her from her bullies. You did both? The girl ends up playing with the dog outside of town, happy and content.
Our immersive world and suspenseful narrative is brought to life with an original soundtrack, and an intricate and fully voice-acted cast of characters. A plethora of entertaining animations and carefully crafted set pieces further enrich the world, along with mini-games and puzzles for the player to lose themselves in.
Our goal is to be able to work on The Wild Wild Pixel full time for at least half a year, giving us the ability to fully devote our attention to crafting the game of our dreams. We want to deliver the ultimate experience to you, with a rich and vast world to explore that is filled with intricate characters directed by a deeply engrossing script. This story has so much potential, we get giddy just thinking about it!
- We want to include as many intuitive puzzles as possible.
- We want to to take everything that’s good from the genre & elevate it while eliminating all the bad aspects associated with the genre like illogical item combinations and needlessly cluttered UI, without sacrificing gameplay complexity.
- We want to create a world that is rich with additional, optional quest lines and interactions.
- We want to add as much subtle storytelling as possible, that the player can explore over the span of the entire game and will eventually lead up to a big revelation.
- We want to nail down the ambience and build up to an exciting, climactic finale with 4-5 chapters, each clocking at around approximately 5 hours.
- We want the entire script to be fully voice acted.
- We want to include as many areas to explore as possible.
- We want to include a helpful hint system based on collecting help coins found through exploration. Help coins which you could use to either receive advise on your ideal next step or to receive a location specific hint.
- We want to add all kinds of special features, such as skit &mini games to enrich the gameplay experience.
Making a game requires time and incredible, collective effort. We promise with our initial funding goal to deliver you an excellent game, but we’re limited by our budget. If we can hit those stretch goals we can include more features, as well as all of our ambitious ideas and goals!
Jukebox Mode: We’ll add a jukebox, allowing you to play any song and special sound track in the game! But that’s not all, it comes with an exclusive side quest with the reward of unlocking a portable radio as an item! Woohee!
+ Collectables + Puzzles: Let’s add even more puzzles & collectables to the game! This would add up to several hours of additional gameplay. Try to hunt down all the collectables for lore while facing even more challenging puzzles along your journey.
+ Voice Actors: As good as our voice actors are (and they are indeed good), we’d love to hire a few more for greater audible diversity between characters! We’re even open to suggestions! Who would you like to hear in the game?
Kickstarter voted Character & Quest: Have a say on a gameplay element! Every week you, the community, would be able to vote on character designs & plot lines that will ultimately be added to the Wild Wild Pixel! Fun!
German & French: In Germany, the adventure game genre never declined in popularity and we’d love to make this game available in German! Es wäre uns ein Vergnügen! We’ll add french in there for good measure. C'est génial, non?
iOs & Android: The adventure game genre is a natural fit for tablets. Granted, it’d become a point & tap instead of a point & click, but it’d be swell nonetheless. We’d port the game over to both iOs & Android and you, the backer, could chose what version to receive! NOTE: Apple only allows us to send iOs copies to American accounts.
Spanish & Italian: Onwards to our quest of world domination! We’d love to make the game available to our Italian & Spanish backers in their native tongue! Voi ragazzi sono lo mejor! We messed that up, didn’t we?
Extra Chapter: This is a big one! The original, first concept of the Wild Wild Pixel was 5 chapters long! However, to finance this project, we decided to cut it down to 4. But we don’t want to! Help us put the chapter back into the game, we promise you won’t regret it!
Japanese & Chinese: We don’t want to leave our Asian backers behind! Help us translate the game over to Japanese & Chinese. ユー日本が大好きです! 我们爱中国！
+ + Voice Actors: Even more voice actors, even more characters and even more dialogue! More, more, more! Let’s make this game as big as possible!
+ Extra Animator: An additional animator means two things: Animations will have more frames and will therefore be more fluid, and there’ll be more animations in general. We promise twice the amount of frames per animation; it’ll be smoother than your retinas can register! (Maybe not.)
Engine Change: This would require us to port all the current progress over and pay for more expensive licensing. Why would we do that? Because if we do, we can support pretty much any platform out there. It’ll also give us more creative control and will allow us to implement some special mechanical features we otherwise couldn’t include. How great is that?!
PS4, Xbox One, Wii U & 3DS: After 150k, every 80-100k onwards we'd be able to add another platform. This would include the Wii U, PS4, Xbox One & 3DS. In what order we'll unlock them is based on popular demand by you all! This is the big, big dream!

Why kickstarter? This is behemoth of a project and we need to be able to work on it full time. We also need to pay for the production costs, including all of our developers and artists for art, animating, coding, voice acting, music & more.
Here are a couple of things that, with your backing, become a possibility for us:
- The two lead developers, Fabian Rastorfer & Ben Miller, will be able to work on the game full time which will allow them to finish the game in its entirety.
- The two lead developers will be able to work in the same room together, allowing for a much faster and more efficient workflow. (The game will come to you faster!)
- We’ll be able to fully voice act the script.
- We’ll be able to fully score the game.
- We’ll be able to fully animate every action.
- We'll be able to make the game as expansive as possible.
So, what exactly is the Kickstarter financing? We understand the uncertainty of backing a project on kickstarter and we want to make sure you know where your money is going:
A significant part of the finances go into production costs for everyone involved. At base level, this will allow us to work on The Wild Wild Pixel full time. It will also allow us to rent out a room where we can work in together, greatly affecting working speed & efficiency. (The game will come to you earlier and at a higher quality!) The rest goes into licensing, voice recording, music creation and, of course, your kickstarter rewards.
Fabraz is an independent media & game development studio that prides its diversity both in design, and its developers. Drawing from minds and talent found in New York, Boston, Berlin, Zurich & Bangkok, it is a breeding ground of creativity. Its most recent game, the critically acclaimed Cannon Crasha, was an action-strategy title released for iOS & Android and was featured as "...a sure-fire winner!" by Apple.
Besides game development, Fabraz is also behind the currently 5 year old and still running webcomic “The tale of Aeria”. Fabraz is about entertainment and experimenting in every possible media.

(Digital and/or Physical) Comic: Did you know that we have professional manga-ke among our midst? This 20+ page comic will tell a little side story with our protagonist, Jacques, drawn by our talented illustrator. A must-own!
VIP Access: This is a special room found in the game, that only our most supportive backers can get access too! Filled with little goodies, such as references to this kickstarter and other nonsensical objects to explore. Feel like a VIP (cus' you are)! NOTE: Nothing in this room contributes to the overall story or game but is simply a cool gimmick to explore and boast about.
Design an Object/Collectable: Based on your tier, you can either design a decorative object found in the game or you can design an entire room or collectable! Wow! The latter can be collected by Jacques and will come with some additional lore you can write in Jacques’ notebook.
Design a Character: Get the opportunity of designing an entire character found in the game! Depending on your tier, we’ll even let you voice him or her! How cool is that?!
Google Hangout: For our most amazing backers, we’ll organize a Google Hangout with a dinner we’ll pay for! Let’s chat and have a good time! Are you in the New York state? In that case, we’ll invite you to dinner in-person, our treat!
Our previous game Cannon Crasha, done in collaboration with Gango Games, was an action-strategy title for iOs & Android.

Risks and challenges
* Creating a game of this scope is a gargantuan, collective effort and no easy feat! We promise the game will be completed and of quality, but we cannot promise every feature and ambitious goal will make it into the final product. We’re limited by our budget, which at face value isn’t much to begin with.
* The final outcome of the game may drastically change (and get better) if we hit some of our stretch goals!

As much as we’d like everyone to get their hands on the game as soon as possible, there are some serious complications with that. The first being that an Alpha is just that, an Alpha, which means it’s largely unfinished and riddled with bugs. We don’t want that to be the first impression people experience right away. It’s also logistically very difficult to get feedback from a massive crowd during the Alpha stage, while also trying to make a game at the same time.
It’ll come in a pristine case with an exclusive cover! It’ll fit right in with all the other games on your display shelf. It also includes a thorough instruction booklet full of guides, images & extra lore!
It depends! If you guys are awesome and get us on steam, you’ll get a steam key! Otherwise expect a digital distribution method with no DRM! That’s a promise.
Our initial funding goal will only allow us to finish the game at its most basic form! And while it’ll be awesome as is, the additional funding would allow us to expand upon it and gives us the chance to add all the cool, ambitious ideas that we have for the Wild Wild Pixel!
We would LOVE to make the game available to Linux users. If we get enough demand for it, we'll make sure it happens!

The answer is a resounding YES! Absolutely every physical tier includes all the digital rewards as well.

This is an unfortunate consequence of the alpha demo not being certified on windows & mac yet. There’s little we can do about it, but we assure you it’s not malicious content. Feel free to download the file and scan it with a malware scanner of your choice.
