Pledge on the Kickstarter and you will get all of what is in the image in addition to the annual and what you have pledged for i.e. a copy of ZX Fusion and a Fusion calendar!
As a huge fan of Crash and ZZap! 64 by Newsfield, and having become good friends with Roger Kean and Oliver Frey, I have always wanted to revisit the idea of producing a gaming themed regular magazine.
FUSION was created over a year ago after having success with the Crash and ZZap! 64 annuals. Roger, by the way, said not to do it!
The magazine covers, or fuses, content on all types of gaming including retro, modern, Indie, table top and even toys and there have been 7 issue to date that have been hugely successful with issue #1 selling over 1,250 copies and the others not too far behind.
Each issue has bespoke artwork, not found anywhere else - it is created specifically for the magazine by Trevor Storey (issue #2 onwards) based on an article or an idea that inside the magazine. The issue #1 cover was produced by Wil Porter - he of Super Play covers for Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) magazine.
To continue the idea of the Crash and ZZap! 64 annuals also produced by us, the idea of a FUSION annual was always in the mind - so here it is.
The annual is 120 pages in length and A5 in size, hardback and is colour throughout with high quality 135gsm glossy paper inside just like our Crash and ZZap! 64 Annuals.
The cover is shown below and is a Bladerunner type space scene - the first time a cover is not directly related to content inside, it just looks great. The cover is also drawn by Trevor Storey:
The quality of the annual is exactly the same as the Crash and ZZap! 64 Annual in terms of paper thickness and feel - this annual is not A4 but A5 so will fit nicely in backpacks and bags for reading on long journeys.
Without giving away too much of what the inside looks like, here are some double page spreads of what you will find inside to give you a taste of what to expect (remember there are 120 pages in total):
We also have a great interview with RJ Michael and features written by The Oliver Twins (Philip and Andrew), Dave Perry (The Games Animal), Stoo Cambridge (Sensible Software), Simon Butler (Ocean Software) and many, many more!
£10K Stretch Goal
Each backer will get a 52-page ZX Fusion issue that concentrates just on the ZX Spectrum if we hit the £10K mark.
Chris McAuley broke into the comic book scene last year as a colourist for Marvel and 2000AD. Under the watchful eye of comic book legend John Charles he has worked on characters such as Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk and Judge Dredd. His work recently featured in the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art . Here we have 2 original images for Fusion - they will be signed by Chris and limited to 25 prints of each.
Posters, canvasses, aluminium prints of each individual cover - just pick the perk you would like then tell us in the questionnaire sent after the Kickstarter which image you would like. I will include multiple perks so you can pick a selection of merchandise with the same image. In the Updates I will let you know to add further perks of the same kind with other images on them.
So as an example of the perks on offer with the imagery above...

Risks and challenges
The aim is to release the annual in November 2019 - with the experience of producing 'The History of Ocean Software' and 'The story of US Gold' and the series of ZX Spectrum books produced, the task of producing this annual to time, quality and budget should not be an issue.
The task of creating the FUSION Annual will be costly and time consuming - the cost primarily represents the printing of such a high quality book. We aim to produce 1,500 annuals in total - I need therefore to ensure we raise sufficient funds to produce the product.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
