The Oliver twins were profilic coders back in the day creating games for many platforms including the NES. Their most iconic games, of course, are those that included Dizzy as the main character.
A year and a half or so I embarked on a journey to write a book on the Twins - well that book came out just before Christmas 2016 and has been a big hit with the fans. As part of the Kickstarter to raise funds for making the book, a perk we offered was a NES cart of the unreleased game Wonderland Dizzy. Only 100 of these games were made - half in grey and half in white. They have now been seen to fetch over £200 on E-bay.
At the beginning of this year we launched a campaign to raise funds to produce another lost gem - Dreamworld Pogie. The amount of pledges received took us by surprise a little meaning the game took a little longer to produce. The game has been well received by the backers of the game.
And to what this campaign is all about....whilst rummaging around their attic earlier this year they only went and found ANOTHER unreleased NES game and this time another Dizzy one called Mystery World Dizzy.
This campaign is to raise funds to create a limited one-off run of this game for NES fans across the world.
We have had a number of prototypes made of Mystery World Dizzy that are working examples - some new art has also been produced as well that can be seen in the image below:
The game itself is a typically great Dizzy adventure - very colorful with some great music. The boxed game will include an instruction manual, the cart and a folded poster, just like in the NES game packages of old. The box will also be enclosed in a plastic NES box case as seen in the above pictures.
First 100 backers will get a magnet and a badge and a Spectrum 35 badge:

Risks and challenges
The aim is to release the game in February of 2018 - with the experience of producing 'The History of Ocean Software' and 'The story of US Gold' and the series of ZX Spectrum books produced, the task of producing this game to time, quality and budget should not be an issue.
The task of creating the physical game will be costly - the cost primarily represents the creation of the cartridge, pcb, box, instructions and poster. We aim to produce 500 games in total - I need therefore to ensure we raise sufficient funds to produce these games.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
