Hello, and thank you for visiting our kickstarter page. We are Tasha and Jesse of LoveCraft Brewing Company. Together we have worked in the craft brewing industry for over seven years. It's where we met, how we came together and why we fell in love with crafting great beers. With your help, we will open a brewery and tasting room. We specialize in unique beer styles, drawing inspiration from French and Belgian brewing tradition and combining that with the spirit of H.P. Lovecraft's monstrous creativity.
Tasha stumbled into the beer industry while on the search for the purpose of life. She found herself drawn to the hard work and embracing attitude of the brewing world. She got a job bottling beer and worked her way up the ladder, taking a break from her Cellar Manager position to have a baby and plot a business plan. Manual labor and paper work do not frighten her nearly as much as a mischievous toddler who just learned how to climb.
Jesse graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in History. He decided its best application would be the brewing of historical beer styles. Working his way up from the very bottom, Jesse found himself learning the basics in the cellar and eventually brewing. With a background in history and years of hard training, he dreams of opening a family brewery which celebrates historical and modern styles alike.
We are raising money to found a farmhouse craft brewery in Kitsap County, Washington. With your support we can buy a kettle and mash tun, fermenters, bright tanks, cooperage, hoses, pumps, ingredients, chemicals, and secure a location. Any additional funds raised over our goal will be allocated to extra fermenters, lagering tanks and a supply of oak barrels for aging. We've spent months researching equipment and making checklists, reading books and talking to other breweries, and now we're ready to get to work!
We have big dreams of doing more than just making beer- we want an experience in a glass. The tap room will be designed to accentuate the beauty of the brew, and perhaps stir up a sleeping god. But our beers will be reaching farther than just our taproom; we hope to get kegs into many local bars and restaurants and get 22 ounce bottles on the shelves of local markets and beyond. The Pacific Northwest is always thirsty for new beers, and the market is steadily growing. With your help we can get brewing and make a brewery that stands out- both in taste and atmosphere.
We've been brewing, crafting, and perfecting our flagship brews so they are ready to go as soon as we have the ability. Here is a brief description of our favorites.
Hypnos IPA: Our flagship IPA is crafted in the Pacific North West style of balancing fruity and floral hops with a light malty body that leaves the palate refreshed. It's an easy drinker, not overly bitter, and has a bouquet of wonderful hoppy aromas.
Satori CDA: This Cascadian Dark Ale is best described as a roasty, chocolaty IPA. It's balanced with floral hops and is much too sophisticated to be called a porter. But if you're a fan of porters, you would probably love this.
Elder God Bier de Garde: This is a farmhouse style beer that is similar to a belgian ale in that it has a sweet, floral estery aroma. We added brettanomyces to it to give it a pleasant tartness. It is sweet, tart and complexly divine.
Olde Kitsap Saison: Olde Kitsap is similar to Elder God, only this brew has a lighter finish with a lower ABV (alcohol by volume). Also brewed with brettanomyces, it has a subtle tartness to it that is accented by additional floral hops. This is a light, pleasing beer that will appeal to the novice craft brew drinker and that know-it-all-home-brewer alike.
Bruthulhu Barley Wine: A beautiful monster of a barley wine. Aged in bourbon barrels for over a year! Sweet vanilla bourbon flavors collide with puckering tartness of lactobacillus. Dark, sweet, and dangerous in all the right ways!
Those are just a few of our starting beers. We plan to do collaborations with other local breweries as well as teach every member of our staff so that we always are open to new recipes and ideas.While we put together things like the licensing and renovating the building for a brewery, we will continue to use our pilot system to try new recipes and grow our list of styles. The beautiful thing about the craft beer revolution is that it is all about experimentation. There are entire festivals dedicated to making the wildest beer you can think of! With our deep knowledge of professional-scale brewing we will never tarnish our brewery with a foul beer and still continue to experiment and perfect.

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge to getting started is licensing. Opening a brewery requires permits from federal, state and local governments. Thankfully, Kitsap County has proven itself receptive to craft breweries, as evidenced by the many breweries which have been founded in the last few years. We will address challenges and setbacks by relying on our relationships with other brewers and business owners we have developed during our careers in the industry. We will work hard to make this dream come true, but we will never be afraid to ask for help from our peers and community.
Because of the growth of craft breweries these days welding shops can hardly keep up with demand! It takes about 6 months to receive brewing equipment after purchasing, and then we have to set everything up in the building before we can get the permits to brew, which could take another 6 months! So our plan is to purchase equipment with the funds raised on Kickstarter as soon as it is completed (November) and be working on the building this winter. Then we should be able to open up our taproom in Bremerton in the beginning of summer (2015), at the earliest. There is a chance that it could be delayed, but we are hoping that it all goes quickly so we can kick things off with a booming summer!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
