You did it! We reached our first goal and are now preparing to print your books. A HUGE THANK YOU to all our backers!
ANNOUNCING OUR NEW STRETCH GOALS…
Now we want to do something truly amazing. We gave our early backers a choice of three stretch goals, and their responses were unanimous:
If we raise $4,000, we will translate Tooj Tales: Kai and the Protectors of Tooj into Myanmar language!
If we raise $5,500, we will print 500 paperback copies of the Myanmar books and donate 100 to local schools. Our backers will also be given the choice to receive their pledge rewards in English or Myanmar (-or a mix if you ordered more than one). The remaining copies will be distributed to bookstores across Myanmar.
If we raise $7,000, we will produce an English Audiobook for Tooj Tales: Kai and the Protectors of Tooj.
Please help us reach these incredible Stretch Goals so we can share our book with young readers in Myanmar, the country of inspiration for Tooj.
Tooj Tales is a series of middle-grade fantasy books that we're writing to introduce young readers to the incredible land of Tooj. Tooj is much more than just the setting of a book. It's a world that's built to explore, play in and create your own stories about.
Eight artists and six writers are currently working on the Atlas of Tooj. When complete, it will serve as a guidebook for brave adventurers and young writers alike.
In the meantime, you can begin your adventure with the first book of the series, "Kai and the Protectors of Tooj", by supporting our Kickstarter today!
After sacking a distant city, the White Hydra and his Maka hoard chase a small band of refugees to the shore below Kai’s village. In a desperate attempt to save their lives, Kai and her friends lead the survivors into an ancient underground lair. Hidden by magic for over a thousand years, its secrets might destroy them before the White Hydra does. Or it may hold the only key to their survival. Join Kai, Zeya, Sanda and Cho for an amazing adventure in the mysterious land of Tooj.
Brian Powell is a writer and consultant from Beattyville, Kentucky who has been traveling the world for the past twenty years.
He loves to explore new places and build things. He was first introduced to Tooj in 2015 when he crossed paths with Jean in Yangon, Myanmar. After three years of playing characters in games set in Jean’s world, Brian sat down and wrote the first book of the Tooj Tales series in the fall of 2018.
He’s an avid board gamer, model maker and father of two.
Jean Curci is an entrepreneur and media producer from Marseilles, France, with more than a decade of experience in Asia.
He’s a lifetime storyteller, comic devotee and fantasy buff. He drew the first map of Tooj in the early 2000’s in France and found renewed inspiration for the world that he had created after moving to Myanmar. He's now developing several projects based on the world of mystery and magic he created.
But hold on! We're currently looking at better shipping solutions for backers outside of the US or Myanmar, please stay tuned!
