For over a year now, I have been working on the fabrication and animation of a short 15-minute script I wrote in 2015 called "Mother's Peak". The film follows a woman named Bee Grady who develops a perilous and unsettling relationship with a ghostly husband and wife from decades prior. The story is about parallel dimensions crossing and the things we learn once we unearth the painful past.
In 2015, I was approached by a company who offered funding to make this film possible. With this opportunity I left my home in Chicago and moved to the east coast to begin production. For one reason or another, the funding was pulled at the last minute and I decided to make the film with my own savings. This process quickly became a 7-day-a-week process and required complete solitude in my studio for over a year. The result was 30 minutes of raw animated footage that now needs to be edited together with dialogue and music.
But first, I need to pay for the overhead of the film, a sum that I paid for out of pocket. That includes the materials to make the puppets and sets, gas for travel, musicians scoring the film, and several collaborators who assisted and devoted time to making this something bigger than i had ever imagined. THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN.
I need a minimum of $9,000.00 to pay off these expenses. Once paid, I can finish the editing process and show this film publicly. Please consider giving to this project, there are some excellent pledge-gifts!
Risks and challenges
Independent film makers often run the risk of falling behind schedule due to small budgets and the obstacles of everyday life. As you can see, the animation is 100% completed but remains unedited and in need of YOUR support. So far I have kept to the schedule of filming and fabricating and promise to deliver on both pledge-gifts and release of the film itself.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
