Plot
Cantankerous is an arky southern/adventure tale that follows 78-year-old Tennessee Ruckus on a whirlwind adventure to replace the body of a decapitated aquatic god. Imbued with incredible new powers by a magical turn-of-the-century deep sea diver's suit, Tennessee faces the challenges of life's decline and a rapidly changing world like no other old codger ever has.
Bring the Family
Cantankerous is a story for all ages that draws inspiration from such stories as Duck Tales, Huckleberry Finn, Into Thin Air, Finding Nemo and Life of Pi. It is a character driven story that explores the themes of faith and doubt, survival and resilience trust and good versus evil.
The Art of Cantankerous Book
In order to document the illustrative work that makes Cantankerous its own world, the creative team has gathered all of its best drawings and designs into a limited-edition 100-page hardcover book (9 inches x12 inches).
In addition to all the wonderful drawings, the Cantankerous team has reached out to industry professionals from the worlds of animated feature film and television, video gaming, illustration, and fine art in order to include in the book a discussion about designing imaginary worlds. Each of the following artists shares his unique perspective regarding the challenges of design within his field.
Ryan Prows: Academy Award-winning director of Narcocorrido
Neal Holman and Chad Hurd: Art directors for Archer
Marcelo Vignali: Production designer of Hotel Transylvania
Jorge Gonzalez: Illustrator for The New Yorker magazine, creator of Dear Patagonia
Claudio Acciari: Animator for The Road to El Dorado, illustrator for Totoro Forest Project
Bryan Wynia: Character artist for God of War: Ascension, Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, and the forthcoming Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters
Mike Brown: Fine artist represented by Gallery Nucleus, Sarah Bain Gallery, and Roq La Rue Gallery

Risks and challenges
No project is without its risks. On-time delivery and the complexities that come with packaging different incentives and getting them to the right people is our primary concern. We have already designed a spread sheet that will help us categorize all of our incentive packages with the correct donators and their addresses. By the end of December, we will see the book finished and in January it will be off to the printers. We have incredibly high hopes for everything going well and delivering on time, and we hope you can see from the level of our presentation that we are professionals you can trust.
