Long ago, in the Kingdom of Pixoto, a bunch of monsters were going nuts, and scaring away all the Little Guys! The Lords of Pixoto joined forces to fight back; building walls and towers, gathering mighty heroes and magical weapons! They even stockpiled food, drink, and ancient artifacts to survive. Before long, though, they turned against one another in a quest for Gold. So began the tale of THE DARING AND THE DOOMED…
Join the fun! The Daring and The Doomed is a fast-playing, easy to learn card game for the whole family. The print quality and fun pixel art have been a huge hit where we go to play! Now, we need your help to get this cool little game out for more people to enjoy! The game basics can be learned in a minute or so, with rules cards included right in the box. There’s even some special kids rules and drinking game rules to make things even crazier for your table. The starter deck is 144 cards strong! This means you can play 3 or 4 complete games with no repeats! All you need is a few six-sided dice and something to track gold like pennies, M&M’s or tiny plastic goats. Your boxed, shrink-wrapped starter set includes Heroes, Monsters, and Kingdom cards.
Heroes are used to fight Monsters, duh! Just roll your Heroes’ combined dice shown and beat a Monster’s roll to win!
Monsters have their own dice to roll. Play Monsters on other players to kill their Heroes, or play them on yourself to win their Gold! Whoever kills a Monster gets the Gold value shown, so go for it!
The Kingdom is where you really make your money. Simply play cards like food, drink, walls, towers, and other important staples of the Realm. Reach 20 Gold and you win!
The entire game is simple Draw one card, Play one card fun. You can bumble through your first game and still have a blast. Mastering the deeper strategies of combinations and timing is where the real game begins.
It’s been a real hoot playtesting and refining the game with friends this year, and now it’s time to go for it! We’re brand new to Kickstarter here at Runehammer Games, so we’re keeping it really simple: just a few backer levels for copies of the game and the expansion deck. Expansion Deck? Yes!

Risks and challenges
We’re new to Kickstarter! That’s not really a risk, but there it is. This is our debut game and we need you to make it sing!
As for printing and shipping, our printer has been fast and reliable so far, with clockwork 2 week turnarounds and awesome card quality. We’re limiting shipping to the USA for this game, mainly because we don’t have a good handle on international costs and delays. Rather than put that uncertainty on you guys, we’re keeping it simple to insure fast, free shipping.
In time, we want Runehammer to be worldwide, but for now it’s simple and flawless rather than huge and freaky. Help us grow Runehammer and we can offer international shipping as soon as we can!
