The short film “Biscuits,” which is written by myself (Scott) and Adam, has filled us with nothing but confidence onto how far we believe we can take this story. It is a story which revolves around Harry Cranston, a man who has recently lost his Father due to Alzheimer’s. Harry, with his girlfriend Rachel, decides to renovate the apartment which has been left to him by his Father in his will, so that they themselves can begin a family. There’s just one slight problem. The apartment is in Spain and with Rachel having just bagged a law firm career in London, Harry is left to renovate by himself and has to come to terms with his Father’s death alone.
It’s amazing what the human mind can do to itself when left alone to think and cope. Einstein once said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” But then again, what did Einstein know…?
This project is the 3rd instalment of films Adam and I have written, produced, filmed and acted in. The other two projects, “Depth Over Distance” and “The Comfort of Discomfort,” have been produced on a very limited budget and we still believe it has exceeded the standard expected from young filmmakers. When I say “limited budget,” that translates to “no money at all… in fact it’s a negative figure.” With a budget from which we can actually spend money we will finally be able to afford the camera equipment, lighting and film making essentials which will enable us to create a genuine and worthy piece of work to justify the amount of time and effort we have put into this script. We have extreme faith in our talent and ability and believe that with your help we can take the film making world by storm as young filmmakers and really “kickstart” a career in an industry we so desperately want to be a part of!

We are Buddy Productions and we make films. But not just any old films… We challenge ourselves each and every day to invent, and bring to life, story lines which stay as far away from your usual clichés and predictable outcomes as possible. We strive to create films which will not only grip you in terms of cinematography, acting and editing but enlighten you to a different way of making films; our way. Now, whilst we are confident on our film making abilities, without funding we can’t move forward. We are yet to even establish ourselves in this industry and already we believe that we’re exceeding the standard expected of young filmmakers. We don’t have thousands of contacts, or a Hollywood budget or people we can employ, because we don’t know of anyone around our area who shares our passion. We are only asking for £2,500 to ensure that there’s no more borrowing equipment, filming in in pubs at 5am, acting in empty theatres and auditioning for parts with too much competition. With this money we can finally advance onto the next level of filmmaking and try beginning a career. We’re not the best yet; but we will stop at nothing until we are.
Risks and challenges
Our plan is to enter this film in as many film festivals as possible to get it out into the big wide world of film. There are of course risks involved with this because there is no guarantee that anything will come of it. But if you don’t have faith in your own work, you’re never going to get anywhere in the film industry!
And of course there are the risks of actors falling sick or a bulb breaking or the plane crashing and us all dying in a horrible, horrible fiery death but hey We are hoping thats not going to happen! FINGERS CROSSED!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
