Up until 1822, people thought birds wintered on the moon, or underwater, or transformed into barnacles. Until 1875, nobody knew for sure how babies were made. On The Constant, I bring you stories of the sometimes comical, sometimes tragical, and always fascinating ways people mess things and up. Because these stories are great stories. They're stories I can't resist telling people, and that I hope you can't resist retelling, too. But also because I believe that discovery, knowledge, humility and imagination are among the most key virtues of humanity, and the best way to appreciate those virtues is by looking at the hard work, flights of fancy and bad superstition that have--and always will--animate our views of the world.
Since beginning this podcast in December of 2017, I've produced more than ten hours of content for you. If you haven't, you should check it out here.
But I can't keep making this show without someway to offset the costs, and I can't make it bigger and better without your support. Your donation to this kickstarter will help me pay for music licenses, hosting the website, hosting the podcast (two separate and expensive things!), graphic and web design and audience outreach and advertising. It'll pay for better equipment and facilities. And it'll help pay for the time it takes me to research, write, record, produce and promote the stories you love.
Help me carve out the dozens of hours it takes to bring these stories your way. Help me get off of this seven year old laptop that is almost filled to bursting with audio files. Help me get out of my living room closet. And, most of all, help me spread the word of this show to more people who might love it.
And! Hey! If you're one of the first forty people to donate $35 or more, you get a signed copy of my book, Counterfeits, for your very own! How nifty!
Thanks for your support, fellow Constantines.
Risks and challenges
Season five is coming in January, one way or the other. Because I've got a bunch of stories that I can't resist telling you. But your support helps determine how well I tell them, and who I can tell them to.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
