I wrote you guys weeks ago to let you know that my notches don't line up and I can't set my desk up. NO RESPONSE! I was really pumped about this desk and now I feel completely ripped off. I would have been fine with a replacement piece but now I want my money back.
Houston, we have a PROBLEM!!! I have had and used this desk for a while now and this morning one of the shelves collapsed. It looks like the wood has warped to such a degree that the shelf "prongs" no longer fit. I am NOT happy about this. Thank goodness I was able to catch my monitor before it crashed on the floor.
Do you have any suggestions?
After reading the comments people are leaving here, I doubt I will get a satisfactory answer to my troubles with this product. But I want to try. First, I agree with other commenters that the finish is very uneven and not presentable, and also that the desk itself is difficult to adjust — you have to remove the items on the shelf before you dare to make a change in height, which seems very unlike what was advertised. Worse than that, though, is the actual construction of the product. The back piece is bowed toward the back, whcih as you can imagine means that the top shelves are not well supported. Plus the right side piece has actually begun to *come apart* — the two "slices" of the side have split from one another, leaving this piece of furniture pretty unstable, especially considering how many dollars worth of equipment rest on it. I will follow this up with an email to Nick at Ervo and see what he might say in response.
I received my desk. I am not impressed. For the amount of money invested, I expected a much nicer furniture quality finish to the wood. It's rough, Boy Scout wood shop badge quality. In addition, one of the shelves is wobbly (does not rest level). The shelves are difficult to adjust — you have to remove everything from the shelves to move them for fear of knocking something off. In addition, it's just not comfortable to use. Right now it's a glorified shelving system that I use for sorting papers. I had high hopes for this product, but it just didn't deliver. Oh, well.
I just emailed Nick but also would like to communicate my HUGE disappointment on the lack of customer service, transparency, and moral and legal integrity that this company has provided. Buyer beware for folks researching this company and buying on their https://ervoproducts.com/. I am a shopper from Canada and reading through the thread of comments it looks like a thematic problem with international clients. 264$ USD down the drain...
@ Ashley F, @HJ CHO...
I found the best communication method was the email address nick@ervoproducts.com . I would guess if you emailed Nick there, it may be a better way to get ahold of him. I found that while sometimes he did not answer/reply right away, sometimes I had to send a couple emails, he did eventually get back to me. I am not sure if they are monitoring these comments anymore. Just a suggestion.
I am another international customer who has had no progress from ERVO/PERCH in either 1. shipping to me (with an accepted DPO address initially, and later providing them my international shipping address) since July. I understand that sometimes shipping requirements change, but I backed a project, which some backers have received and I backed under good faith that they would stick to their "worldwide pledge." I expect a response, and have had none since July when I sent them my alternative address. Disappointed and will be looking into filing a claim with my credit card based on non-delivery of paid goods, without a response from ERVO/PERCH. Disappointed.
ERVO had indicated starting July 25 that we would be supplied a refund. We have followed up once a month, every month since that time. A recent email vaguely alluded that no refund would be possible at any point in the future.
$519 USD invested on November 1, 2015. We have yet to receive resolution, despite ongoing and time consuming emails with ERVO. Our last communication, 3 weeks ago is unanswered.
I have now been contacted by Ervo. While no date has been given of when I will receive a refund, I have been assured it will happen at some point in the future, so I will wait and see.
Here's the facts of my situation which, as of October 4, 2016, is no desk, no refund, and a lack of communication from Ervo.
November 2015 - Pledged (and was charged) $519 USD to my credit card for 2 desks, selected Rwanda as destination (which was given as a valid option)
July 20, 2016 - Emailed Nick/Ervo informing no desks shipped/arrived
July 21, 2016 - Nick emailed back saying cannot ship to a PO Box, to which my reply is EVERY address in Rwanda is a PO Box. Unless shipper uses Fedex or DHL, EVERY address in the entire country is a PO Box, no exceptions (large packages are kept in storage and slips are put into PO Box, has been done dozens of times by me with packages from Amazon, family, etc.) This is the way it is in Rwanda for all businesses and individuals. Asked Nick for any way forward.
July 23, 2016 - Email Nick again requesting response/way forward
July 28, 2016 - Nick responds asking for a non-PO Box, as the shippers will not ship to Rwanda PO Box, and asks for a different address for a different country. Nick mentions a refund may be needed if the address/shipping can't be sorted. My immediate reply is I live in Rwanda (since 2012), this is where the desks need to be shipped to, and that was what was selected upon pledging (which was available as an option).
August 8, 2016 - I email Nick asking for a response to my reply on July 28
August 16, 2016 - I email Nick asking for a response to my reply on July 28
August 17, 2016 - Nick replies and assures there will be resolution. States the issue has been sent to the operations manager and they will get back to me shortly.
August 30, 2016 - I email Nick once again asking for an update from the last communication on August 17. Nick replies stating there is no solution to shipping in Rwanda. His exact words on a refund are... "I will send your request for refund to our accountant so they are aware of your request. We are currently unable to provide refunds but are working towards providing full refunds for those that have requested them. We will provide you with a full refund as soon as we are able."
That was the last communication from Nick, over a month ago. I have sent 3 emails since, on September 7, September 26, and one today (October 4th).
I have not heard anything from Nick, or Ervo, since August 31st when it was communicated there was no way to ship the desks to Rwanda.
I think that is the part that is most frustrating, Ervo has $519, I have nothing, and no communication from Ervo in 5 weeks.
Hi same here. Have not yet received my desk or the refund. Nick was in touch with some time but after that no response from the team. Please take this seriously.
I also have still not received my desks, and have been told the desks cannot be shipped to my country (even though that was a selectable option when I pledged) and I have not been given any refund, and have not had difficulty getting a response.
I replied your email, but the delivery was failed. It seems that there's a problem with your email address. Please contact me if you do not receive my reply. I am okay with changing the color. Thanks a lot.
I have already emailed nick@ervoproducts.com, but the last reply I received was July 28. I have sent another email today, as well as also trying the contact form via the ervoproducts.com website.
Can someone please get back to me regarding the inability to ship to Rwanda.
It has been nearly a month since the first correspondence on this and I am hoping we can reach a satisfactory resolution.
This is simply junk. And on top of that, I had to pay an extra $45 in tax to have it delivered. Serious buyer's remorse. How was the desk in the promo video "faked", I wonder?
I got email from Nick Salisbury (nick@perchdesk.com ) on July 29. He was asking me about my address being too long to process and if I would be okay to change my order from a clear coat stained desk to cherry stained one due to the inventory problem.
I replied immediately because I wanted receive one early but the email address seems to be wrong and the delivery failed.

Follow-up posting:
Using the ERVO for one week now.
Uneven staining not as noticeable with computer installed.
Design works well for me, and seems fairly solid.
Chemical odor dissipated over the weekend, and is no longer noticeable.
I am happy with the purchase.
I really wanted to like this product, but I'm definitely wrangling with "buyer's remorse". After using it for a couple weeks, here are my issues with it:
- Cheap manufacturing.
- 2 small shelves are already warping inwards (with just 1 small laptop set on each).
- 1 shelf is de-laminating (top layer peeling) already
- Thin cherry wood coating was sprayed on, and is very uneven especially in groove parts, looks cheap.
- Arrived chipped/dinged on some edges.
- Yes, it had a pungent lacquer-like odor after unpacking like others mentioned, but that went away after about a week.
- Shelf pieces are somewhat heavy, bulky, and awkward (especially with any equipment on them) - making adjustments a real pain. Going from sit-down to standing position is not so easy or as fast you would want it to be.
- The groove system just doesn't work as well as intended, so sometimes you have to get it in place "just right" before you can let it go/let it down...I find this to be tiresome/annoying.
- My long shelf won't sit in place properly, ever. So any time I rest either hand on or near the front edge (e.g. for the mouse), there's a "wobble". Again, I find this to be distracting and very annoying.
- Lastly, the look...now this is just a comment on aesthetics alone: It just really sticks out in the room. The bulky sides are not attractive, and it really takes up a lot of work space in a room.
Bottom line: I'll probably be converting this into a bookshelf fairly soon.
Received my 38" desks and now having it sitting in my office.
The quality of the staining (cherry wood) is not what I expected.
And the chemical odor could be a problem. I hope it doesn't linger.
The desk fits together well and is solid. Wondering if I should have ordered the light wood stain.
I've now completely and thoroughly painted the whole desk in the meantime to make the smell disappear. It now looks pretty amazing painted in white and the smell is gone. Judging by the stains and lack of coating, I came to the conclusion that the desks should never have been shipped this way. Maybe there was a misunderstanding between Ervo and the manufacturer, but the desk definitely needs some finish coating applied, or the formaldehyde smell won't disappear.
I received my desk almost a month ago. The structure is flexible and I am still exploring different layouts to fit my working style. However, the quality of making makes me a little disappointed. There are some stains and chips on the edge. Even I don't know too much about furniture, it is very clear for me its production is rough. Strongly suggest to change your factory. But one thing I think need to be solve now is the smell. Almost one month has passed but the smell remains. I googled and found the smell may come from Formaldehyde but don't have any idea how to remove it. Does anyone know any solution to reduce it?
I received my desks today and am thrilled with them. After reading previous comments about the quality, fumes, & poor condition the desks were arriving in, my expectations were low. Mine arrived, well packaged and fit together easily and perfectly. There was a slight, unpleasant scent right away, but no more than anything else I take out of a box and it disappeared quickly. The finish (clear) was well applied and consistent. Although they are heavier than I had hoped, the overall product is perfect for my needs.
I am one of the people who did not get the desk during the first batch.
I contacted the ERVO team as well as the Hong Kong Intl Post to verify my tracking number, and we found that my shipment has been lost. Therefore, the ERVO team has just duplicated my order and shipped it via DHL. Now I got my desk last night, and I'm happy with it.
Be patient, guys. There are many backers here deliberately waiting for the desks. I was one of them. The ERVO team is trying very hard to fulfill every order as fast as possible, and it's understandable that there could be any shipment lost due to the massive numbers of orders. I come here just to confirm you guys that there is a REAL desk shipped to me.
Hi ERVO team,
As with many others I am still waiting for our two desks and am incredibly disappointed with the response times. As there is no phone number I left a message on the Facebook page in hopes that we could get a response after all of our emails getting un-deliverable messages.
The response we did receive from Nick indicated that delivery had been attempted multiple times at our residence. We never received any shipping info, nor was there any indication of a delivery having been attempted on any occasion. Even more disappointing was finding out our desk had been shipped across the country dramatically increasing the carbon footprint of our products.
At this point we would really like a refund. I hope this will be possible as I see what the founder now works for another company as of June ....
Hi Ervo team,
When are you going to answer my question about the shipping info?
I left a message on the Updates page and Facebook, but got no response.
When will my desks arrive?
I've got a message from Ervo team today.
If you haven't got the desk, send message to Ervo team.
--------------------------
Hi Jaeyong,
Thank you for following up on your order. When we pulled your order up in our system there was an error so your desk had not shipped. We have fixed the issue and your desk will be shipping out tomorrow, so you can expect to receive it in the next 5 - 7 business days.
Pretty disappointed. Lots of scrapes, filler, etc on the wood. I like the design but the wood just doesn't look great and several pieces of the edges were splintered off when I got it, and more came off when I tried to assemble it. My top two shelves won't line up and are slightly wobbly and I worry about the monitors on them. maybe the shelves should be made of another material? and maybe the tracks on the sides should be waxed or soemthing to the pieces glide easier? Frustrating to spend so much and have something that small pieces keep peeling/splintering off.
I got my desk!!! The design is fabulous and I love the flexible easy to use options. I really hate the smell! Its pretty bad and 2 days out of the box it has not gone away. Reading some of the reviews it seems the smell will last at least a week+, which is a BIG con for me. The stain on it is pretty but pieces of the desk keep chipping off. I am not rough with it or anything its just splintering at some of the edges.
I also ordered the laptop stand and the standing pad and both are fantastic. I would love to see this desk design made with recycled plastic.....the cost would be low and it might be more durable.
The product design is worth the $284 I paid for this project.....the quality, not so sure. Over all I give this desk an 82% rating. If some of the issues are worked out I would def buy again. If offered in recycled plastic I would def buy.

So good luck and be patient.

Jaeyong Park am June 29, 2016
I've got a message from Ervo team today.
If you haven't got the desk, send message to Ervo team.

Hi Jaeyong,
Thank you for following up on your order. When we pulled your order up in our system there was an error so your desk had not shipped. We have fixed the issue and your desk will be shipping out tomorrow, so you can expect to receive it in the next 5 - 7 business days.
Thanks!
The ERVO Team
