After playing in other people's bands for 10 years, I decided it was time to start playing my own material. This album is a collection of songs written mostly during the past year, with a few older ones I've been sitting on for a while.
The song in the video is called Calypso to Caliban - you can watch a live performance of it here:
You can listen to a rough mix of another song here:
I'm working with an engineer/producer by the name of Jon Corey at Steed Studios in Somerville, MA who I met by complete chance at an open mic in Boston. When life gives you an engineer, record some songs I say! But also pay that engineer and make him lemonade.
The money you donate will go directly to:
If I exceed my goal I'll be using the money for a limited run of vinyl as well as digital distribution and web development.
Thanks for your support! And remember if I don't reach my goal, I don't get the money and YOU don't get to hear the songs! So please spread the word!
Risks and challenges
Songwriting can be an intensely personal experience, and jumping the gap between what you hear in your head and what you're able to capture with a microphone is terrifying - especially on the first go round.
I'm proud to say that thanks to Jon's help I've managed to capture more than what I'd hoped for.
I'm almost done. Pressing this album is the final step in this project, and the first step in what I hope will be a lifetime career in music. Thanks for helping me take it!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
