About this project
When I was in high school I fell in love with those little one inch buttons the size of a quarter. I’ve always thought they were fun & awesome & made some whenever I had an excuse to. Now I want to make some to spread the word about some of my friends’ art. So I got five artists to each design five pins from their artwork. You can back your favorite artist to get their buttons (or magnet or zipper pull) or get a random set or get them all. After expenses any additional money will be going out to the artists. Thanks for your interest & support.
About the artists:
Arabella Proffer is a fine artist that makes these kickass paintings. I've been friends with her for about ten years now. She currently lives in Cleveland, OH.
Joe Badon is predominantly a comic artist. I've been friends with him for three or four years. He currently lives in Slidell, LA.
Nick Marino is predominantly a comic artist. I've been friends with him for six or seven years. He currently lives in Long Beach, CA.
Kimberlee Traub is predominantly a pen & ink artist & tattoo designer. I've been friends with her for about eighteen years now. She currently lives in Philadelphia, PA.
Brian John Mitchell is predominantly a comic artist occasionally delving into abstract painting & photography. He is me. He currently resides in Raleigh, NC.
ORIGINAL ART & HIGH QUALITY PRINT AWARDS:
If we make it to $500, I will make another set of pins from other artist friends in the fall. Also, at that point each artist will probably not only get enough money to go out to lunch, but probably enough to take a date out for a decent dinner.
Risks and challenges
I got a printer that I'm happy with the quality of. I've got a button maker that I'm happy with. I've got the bubble envelopes & ship things out regularly. I would say the biggest challenge would be finding the time to get things done if I sold a ridiculous amount of buttons (like over 5000 or something), but I'm still sure I'd get things done if it took a couple extra weeks!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
