About this project
Rosie and the Ramblers is a country band started by Selena (Rosie) Rosanbalm in 2011. We're proud to call Austin home.
We've released two EPs independently and know that now is the time to put out our first full-length record. This record is an important milestone for us that we hope will open up new performance opportunities across the US and overseas!
Here's a where your donation will go:
1. Studio and engineer fees: The most essential and fundamental part of making a record (after writing the songs, of course). We will basically be living in the studio for 5 days, and will create, play and come together as a family. Our relationship to the recording space and the engineer is as important as the relationships within the band.
2. Payment for musicians: Without these fantastic players I would never be able to play shows and I'd certainly never be able to put out this record!!
3. Promotion: We're getting professional help (ha!) on this one because proper promotion enhances distribution, publicity, buzz, etc. Word-of-mouth is great, but having someone working for us specifically gives us a serious bump. And it doesn't come cheap. This is especially important for getting the word out about our release show and for getting our tunes on the radio!
4. Materials: printing the cds, t-shirts, stickers, any other merchandise, posters, flyers, etc.
We are thrilled and flattered that you've even considered donating to our project!! Just like at our live shows, we're working hard to put out the best possible product so that YOU have the best possible listening experience.
We are sincerely grateful - Thank you so much!
Risks and challenges
The biggest hurdle we might face with this project is not getting the record out in a timely fashion after recording. There may be hold-ups on the promotional side that force us to push the release date, which is uncertain anyway at this point. There may be problems with printing, design mistakes, etc.
Delays of this kind are frustrating and disheartening, especially when they concern something as personal as a collection of original songs. But we've faced the same kind of thing with booking shows, trying to haggle with club owners over payment, discrepancies in billing or the door deal or whatever. We've dealt with setbacks and broken hearts before but we always keep working and always meet our goal, even if it's a little later than expected. Tenacity!!
