About this project
My name is Scott Achord, I am a film student at the Art Institute of Seattle. I have been planning to make this feature film for about two years now. The Andromeda Project is a drama/science fiction film about two young adults whom encounter extraterrestrials. This leads them to have night terrors, bizarre hallucinations, and poetic visions. This pair must work together to solve the mystery of our beings from the stars.
While Andromeda is playing heavily on elements like Close Encounters of the Third Kind (which does serve as an inspiration). It is very much it's own thing. The developing love between our main protagonist Alan, and his neighbor Maya is a very believable and unique love story. Where the film shines in elements of science fiction and suspense is the night terror segments. Spanning from simple UFO thrills to full blown epiphanies.
We're planning on having the film be roughly 75 minutes long. Our plan is to shoot it on the Black Magic Cinema Camera which shoots at 2.5K resolution.
Once the film is completed our goal is to take it around to festivals, starting locally with the Seattle International Film Festival. As we hopefully gain recognition we continue to have it go to festivals. Some limited theatrical engagements are also planned, primarily in the Washington State area.
Thank you everyone for giving us this opportunity. We hope you like the idea as much as us making it do. Any form of help we obtain is fantastic. Thank you!

Risks and challenges
The largest challenge of course is technical difficulties. Every file saved is stored in 5 different locations minimum to prevent loss of data. Camera equipment will have back ups as well.
Our schedule is very flexible. Most of the locations are simple locations that are easy to acquire, so the concern of losing locations if actors cannot be there do to illness, injury, etc. will be of minimal concern.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
