What is Skiptrace?
Skiptrace is a card game about a bunch of clueless Bounty Hunters new to the job. As Bounty Hunters, players craft stories around the Items they are given to capture their Targets. The game is modular and takes only 5 minutes to learn.
For the design of Skiptrace, we wanted to emphasize a union between classic roleplaying and storytelling styles found in tabletop, and improvisation techniques in comedy. The result is a gateway game that eases people into roleplaying without overbearing systems.
How to Play
In Skiptrace, the objective of the game is to collect at many Targets as possible. During each round, there will be one player designated as The Boss and the rest of the players will be Bounty Hunters.
The Boss – As The Boss for the round, you have two jobs. At the start of the round, you determine the Mission; at the end of the round, you decide which Bounty Hunter gave the best pitch.
Bounty Hunter – As a Hunter, it is your job to convince The Boss why you are best suited to complete the Mission.
Each round, players must complete a Mission, crafted by The Boss, comprised of an Objective card, a Target card, and a Location card.
Using Item cards, Hunters then take turns, presenting how they will accomplish the Mission.
After all the Hunters pitch, The Boss chooses the best Hunter for the job, and play resumes with the next person becoming The Boss.
We tested a prototype of Skiptrace at Tabletop Deathmatch during Gencon. We’ve refined, simplified, and improved the game since, but this gameplay provides a good taste of Skiptrace even though a few cards and the box design have changed.

The Game Contains:
- 392 Professionally Printed Cards.
- A 9-page Rule Booklet.
- A Custom-Made Box specifically designed so all components fit snugly inside.
Ayla and Tom are both fresh to game design, and Skiptrace has been a passion for us for over a year. This is our first real shot at being able to live our dreams as game designers. If this project succeeds, not only will we be able to produce Skiptrace, but it will also be the best opportunity we have at creating more games for you all!
Skiptrace is a finished game! We were a finalist in Cards Against Humanity's Tabletop Deathmatch and were featured in the Indie Megabooth this year at PAX East, E3, and PAX Prime. We have spent the better part of a year crafting Skiptrace into something amazing, however, it is expensive to produce a tabletop game, and we just don’t have the funds to put towards a printing.

Risks and challenges
We’ve spent a lot of time crafting Skiptrace, and it’s been a labor of love for us. We’ve researched all the production and shipping charges and know that we can deliver the game at this price if we’re able to raise our goal of $15,000. As such, we’re only asking for as much money as we need to print and ship the game. We've been very conservative about the delivery date and hope to deliver it a month or two sooner.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
