Cracks In The Room - the story so far.....
We have created a record that we feel is our most honest, raw and exciting work yet and we can't wait to share it with you...
The music draws on our shared experiences as young women growing up together, and our love of all types of music from all around the world. Our producer Chris Wood has been a huge inspiration during this process. His unique and creative approach in the studio has helped us refine our sound, and throughout, he has made sure that the most important thing in music - soul - is at the forefront of everything. He also encouraged us to not hold back on what he feels is our USP - "the crazy".
This is Chris' first production job outside of making his own albums, and we are so delighted to have had the privilege of working with this wise and beautiful musician. He has pushed us to explore every nook and cranny of our music, and helped us find the most special things in our playing and singing. We recorded the album in Mattie Foulds' brand new studio Caribou Studios in the Scottish Borders. We are grateful to Mattie for letting us bring in our regular recording engineer Rod Buchanan-Dunlop, and for the warm, friendly atmosphere he has created at Caribou. We felt inspired and relaxed, looking out over the Pentland Hills, as well as getting to know our neighbours - the horses in the field next door. Having recorded all of our previous work with just ourselves and Rod in the studio, it was a new experience to have a producer in the mix. Chris and Rod were on exactly the same page with how to record us, and clicked instantly.
Having finished the recording part of the process, Chris travelled to the U.S.A, where the album was mixed by Oz Fritz. Oz has worked with a great number of incredible artists, on some legendary records, including one of our favourites - Tom Waits' Grammy-winning album "Mule Variations". Oz's mixes have given the music an edge that we never dreamed possible and we couldn't be happier with the results.
Now that the music is ready and waiting, we need your help to create the album artwork, get the CDs manufactured and get the music promoted so that it reaches as many people as possible. We have created rewards ranging from CD pre-orders, to house concerts. Check them out on the right hand side of this page.
We hope you love the music as much as we do. Thank you so much for your support!

Risks and challenges
Our main aim once the album is finished, is to promote it far and wide. This can be a risk with so much new music out there today. But we feel that through the success of our last album, and with a wonderful PR agent and great distributer lined up, we will be able to do this successfully. We have numerous festival and tour dates lined up for 2017, both in the UK and abroad, which will support the album's PR campaign.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
