What is it all about?
We want to create an interactive fiction game. A story of romance and intimacy. The game will be dialog driven with images and music providing a beautiful immersive atmosphere.
We expect development to take four months.
The game will be released on multiple platforms including PC, Android and iOS.
Why is this game important?
Video games are often thought to be just idle entertainment. We disagree. We are going to prove that games can deal with serious topics, letting players reflect on important questions in their lives.
Video games have the potential do this better than any other media. Because a game is the only medium that makes you an active participant. Difficult questions are yours to answer and decisions are yours to make.
Love and sexuality are themes that have so far been shallow in video games. We want to change that. To create a story that is deeper than "kill the monsters, rescue the damsel in distress and win her love". And to portray sexuality in a way that is neither vulgar nor comical, but invites you to reflect on its beauty and intimacy. And on your own love life.
Support the project and help us move the boundaries for how video games can interpret meaningful themes in a mature way.
Andrea and Will have been together for four years and are about to celebrate their anniversary. But things have not been going well lately and their relationship is strained.
As they try to make amends, harsh realities soon set in. Their careers, social lives, personal problems and even ordinary chores demand time and attention. Will they be able to rekindle the flame? To find love and passion together again, without giving up on their hopes and dreams?
Can you balance love and career and find time for both?
- Salaries: $12000: $3000 per month for 4 months
- Promotion: $2000: Building and maintaining a website, advertising, and fees for getting the game reviewed.
- Audio: $500: Music licensing.
- Fees: $1500: Kickstarter, Payment processing, Apple Developer Program, Google Play Developer, Steam.
- Risks: $2000: In video game development, something is almost guaranteed to go wrong and incur extra costs. This will hopefully cover such costs.
Half of this will be self funded and the other half crowdfunded from Kickstarter. These numbers are approximately the same in Euro and dollars.
Meet the Team
Henrik Schou-Pedersen: Programmer and designer. Age 37. Married and father of one. I made my first video game as a teenager and have been working with video games since, both on big industrial titles and small odd indie projects. Master's degree in computer science. I initiated this project, because I dream of making a game that really challenges the way people think about games.
Gustavo Silva Torqueto: Graphic Artist. Age 29. I grew up with art since I was kid. My Father used to sculpt in wood and teach me how to draw. Around my 13 years old this was left aside and my focus was on Computer Languages (Visual Basic and Delphi). I realized that wasn’t my area! I got back to drawings and my curiosity on Digital Arts has increased. Bacharel in Visual Arts.
Mateus Farias: Writer. Age 20. Currently majoring in psychology (Behavior Analysis in special), and a freelancer narrative designer for two years now, learning from other areas to improve my set of skills. All in all, a lover of stories, science and games. Works as the dialogue writer in the project, using past experiences, narratives and models that I got during my lifetime. I dreams of breaking into the industry or becoming an academic.
Risks and challenges
We already have a playable demo and we included some margin in the budget. So development risks are quite low and we can pretty much guarantee that we be able to deliver the finished game on time.
The biggest risks are not in development, but in distribution. We can not guarantee that the game will be available for sale through a specific channel. Steam Greenlight in particular is uncertain.
Due to the game's erotic themes and Apple's restrictive policies, availability on iOS is not guaranteed. However, we are aware of these restrictions and strive to stay within them.
All in all, we will try very hard to ensure that you can enjoy this game on your platform of choice.
