In 2015, we raised $3,000 and made the cult hit Killer Piñata. We're back to make the larger-than-life sequel, Killer Piñata 2: More of Them, which is 10 times the movie and needs 10 times the budget! See why here:
Angry Mule Productions is proud to be the team behind:
Years ago, Angry Mule team members (and real life friends) Stephen, Paul, and Jenn ran out of fun horror movies streaming online - so they decided to make their own and Killer Piñata was born! Oh, you haven't seen it yet?
Previously on Killer Piñata (warning, major spoilers ahead) ...
Killer Piñata tells the story of college freshman Lindsey Goodman, who's come home to party with friends over Thanksgiving break. Unbeknownst to the group of affable coeds, one of the piñatas from Lindsey's kid brother's birthday party has been possessed by the spirit of a bullied factory worker who's hellbent on revenge. Over the course of one bloody night, The Killer Piñata shows his murderous and perverted tendencies, offing Lindsey's crew of sad cousin Martin, coquettish Rosetta, hunky Chad, ex-boyfriend Scott, and the hook-handed Shopkeeper who was trying to save them all. Lindsey thought she destroyed The Killer Piñata in an epic death match, but Killer Piñata 2: More of Them shows otherwise.
Now that The Killer Piñata has returned and followed Lindsey to college, he's discovered more of his kind and built an army. But Lindsey quickly builds one, too, and the fight is on. Filled with frat boys, pillow-fighting sorority sisters, first loves, and lots and lots of gore, Killer Piñata 2: More of Them has all the heart and humor of its predecessor, while delivering all the bang you'd expect from a militia.
Featuring the one-and-only Ron Jeremy as The Killer Piñata!
Ron Jeremy has acted in more than 1,000 films and gained notoriety on season two of VH1's The Surreal Life. He's a darling of the indie horror world, appearing in TROMA's Terror Firmer and Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV. He's also been featured in the Dennis Devine flicks Night of the Dead and Curse of the Pirate Death, among others.
Angry Mule was thrilled when Ron agreed to be part of Killer Piñata 2: More of Them. His role as The Killer Piñata seemed meant to be. The production team received overwhelming feedback that the animated version of The Piñata's human self looked like Ron - but see for yourself:
Also starring Danny Hassel - none other than Dan Jordan of Nightmare on Elm Street 4 and 5 fame!
Danny Hassel played the iconic role of Dan Jordan in Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. Today, he delights fans by travelling around the world to horror conventions, doing stand-up comedy, and performing with his band, Victrola.
Eliza Morris returns as final girl Lindsey Goodman, joined in her fight by newly-found paramour, Natalka "Nat" Ham, played by Lex Hartfield.
Since starring in Killer Piñata, Eliza has been active in the Chicago musical and theater scenes, teaching, acting, and composing. Lex has worked with Faux Pas Films, starring in Sell Me This Pen and Hematic Web. She also joined Killer Piñata alum Lindsay Ashcroft in Tommy Jackson's Monica and was featured in Eli Roth's Death Wish, acting alongside Bruce Willis, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Elisabeth Shue.
Backing Lindsey in her next fight against The Killer Piñata is cowboy Shane, played by Eyelash's Johnny Kalita, and her crew of newly-reunited college friends - lovable stoner Sam (Elliot Lerner), befuddled Malick (Mikey Russo), and sharp-witted sorority girl Bianca (Natalie Duch). All are talented Chicago actors with impeccable comedic timing and a flair for Killer Piñata-style horror.
And last, but not least ...
Joette Waters is returning as fan favorite The Shopkeeper!
Joette is an accomplished stage and screen actress. She appeared in Angry Mule's Eyelash and can also be seen in the Amazon original series Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, the horror feature Asylum of Fear, and much more.

We've already shown that we can make a stellar feature-length film with a limited budget, but now we'd like to deliver a film where the technical aspects match the heart of the production!

Thank you so much for visiting our page and considering giving your hard-earned money to making Killer Piñata 2: More of Them a reality! We promise, we won't let you down. And please check out all the cool perks you can earn as a backer - we have some really cool stuff available at every level!
Risks and challenges
The Killer Piñata movies embrace fun, horror, comedy, heart, and a lot of gore. The first one was made on a micro-budget and Killer Piñata 2: More of Them will be a low-budget production. This comes with a lot of risks and challenges, but the Angry Mule team is ready to meet them head on!
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES: It's important that this sequel retain the feel and heart of the first movie, while delivering higher-quality special effects and visuals. But we don't want them to be tooooo good - this is a Killer Piñata movie, after all! We've assembled an amazing team of technical crew members to assist with lighting, coloring, sound design, and every other detail involved with making this film. Many we've worked with before and all come highly referred. They understand what we're trying to do and will ensure that each and every frame comes out exactly as intended.
MARKET AWARENESS: What's the point of a movie if no one's going to watch it, right? When we made Killer Piñata, the Angry Mule team was newly-formed and our members had little-to-no recognition in the film-making or horror communities. But our movie spoke for itself and, over time, it developed a cult following. Today, more than three years after we began this passion project, we still hear from new fans on a regular basis, from all over the world. A production company that had no name recognition in 2015 can now be found referenced in podcasts, blogs, social media, and more. We have a wonderful community of supporters who are excited to get the word out and help ensure this film comes to light.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY: Well, not alllll about the money. But that's why we're here, right? We wanted to be practical about this movie, just like we were on the original. While we have a lot of fun at Angry Mule and put our heart and soul into our projects - with lots of laughs and antics (and pizza) on the set - we're also know our films are only good if they're watchable, whatever level that might be at. For Killer Piñata 2: More of Them, we crunched our numbers over and over again, looked at our self-funding capabilities, and came to the amount you see today - $35,000. This is what we need from the Kickstarter community to ensure this movie is what it's supposed to be. We'd rather not make Killer Piñata 2 than make a sub-par movie that won't do justice to our hero and our fans - that's just our way!
TALENT, TALENT, TALENT: We all know that movies like Killer Piñata are supposed to be so bad they're good. But for us, we want that to be deliberate! We've already cast a substantial number of roles and are thrilled with how the group has come together. Chicago has a rich theatre community and the Killer Piñata 2 cast is filled with an unbelievable amount of talent who have all thrown themselves into their characters. We can't wait to show the world how this group exudes natural chemistry and embodies the spirit of Killer Piñata!
WHAT ARE WE EVEN DOING: The Angry Mule team is an "all hands on deck" kind of crew where titles don't mean a whole lot - even though we all wear several of them. That said, someone needs to know what they're doing! Our Writer/Director/Fearless Leader, Stephen Tramontana, has been making movies since he could hold a camera (seriously, ask his dad - he has the embarrassing photos to prove it). He worked in post-production for the SyFy Channel on several large productions - including with the likes of Bruce Campbell - and has been a successful screenwriter in Los Angeles, quarter-finaling in the BlueCat competition and finaling at the Austin Film Festival. This guy knows his stuff. His teammates, Jenn Kunkel and Paul Summers, have worked alongside him on the original Killer Piñata, the short Eyelash, and pre-production for three more shorts Angry Mule will be filming in 2018 - they've learned a lot and are masters at researching and figuring things out. Plus, we're bringing on a talented team of seasoned professionals to fill in the gaps and ensure everything goes off without a hitch.
We hope you'll agree that we're prepared to make Killer Piñata 2: More of Them the best horror-comedy sequel the genre has ever seen!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
