We did it! The Mission is complete.... all the goals and then some! We love you chummers.... thanks for an amazing campaign!
In Shadowrun: Sprawl Ops, players lead a team of shadowrunners gunning for the big score!
Along the way they’ll have the chance to hire more seasoned runners, outfit their team with cutting-edge technology—from the latest weapons to cyberware enhancements—and take on increasingly dangerous contracts on the mean streets of the Seattle Metroplex.
Each payout increases your chances for a more lethal combination of gear, training, and skill. All leading to that final score as you take on one of the world’s megacorporations. But you’ve got to hit it before another team steals your ticket to the big time—hold off too long to grab that ring, and you’ll lose it all!

Exclusive Cooperative Expansion Video
Shadowrun: Sprawl Ops takes place across a number of rounds, with each player taking actions in turn. The players lay out the gameboard, the various cards and dice, and randomly select one of the Final Mission cards. Then each player starts by selecting a shadowrunner team—taking the appropriate markers and player mat—and placing three starting shadowrunners in their player area.
Each player has a number of actions based upon how many shadowrunners they have on their team; all start with three, but you’re able to hire up to four. Beginning with the first player in a turn, each player places one of their shadowrunner markers on a location on the gameboard, immediately resolving the effects there.
A few location examples:
- At the Crime Mall, immediately spend nuyen to purchase equipment and place the card with any of shadowrunners.
- At Max’s Ironworks, get a cyberware upgrade for that shadowrunner.
- The Eye of the Needle provides a host of different benefits for what you need to accomplish in a turn.
- Got a wounded shadowrunner? Dante’s Inferno will let them lie low, make contacts, and generate some nuyen.
- Or make your way to Mr. Johnson and select a mission.
- And plenty more! Check out the game board!
Players not only need to choose the appropriate location to try to maximize their gains each turn—and act before other players can grab what they’re looking for—but each shadowrunner is a specific type, bringing their own strengths and weaknesses to a given location.
Shadowrun: Sprawl Ops includes the following shadowrunner types:
- Street Samurai: Weapons master, often more machine than man.
- Decker: Computer hacker extraordinaire; the Matrix is life.
- Mage: Slinger of spells and incantations; rare, precious, dangerous.
- Rigger: Drones and vehicles; a mind-jockey for any mobile tech.
- Face: Charismatic and silver-tongued; confidence man for any deal.
Placing any shadowrunner into the Crime Mall location on the gameboard lets you snag any equipment card available for the list price. But if you place your Face there, you can get it for half price! Or if you want that perfect cyberware upgrade for your Rigger, you must place that shadowrunner in Max’s Ironworks. Or send your Street Samurai to The Eye of the Needle to automatically pass the first Stage of a mission; or the Decker to gain extra Loot; or the Mage to move one of your other shadowrunners. That's just the start of the benefits of having the right runner in the right place.
Once all shadowrunners are placed and locations activated, players move into the last portion of every round: running their missions!
Every Mission card indicates several stages that need to be completed, via a series of icons corresponding to the shadowrunner types. Players then determine which shadowrunners they wish to send on the mission; they can send one, some, or all their team. After reviewing their shadowrunners, they select a number of six-sided dice equal to all of their available icons—based upon the shadowrunners, equipment, and upgrade cards—and then roll their dice.
Each die includes two “success” sides and one “injury” side; the rest of the sides are blank. When rolling the dice, a player has three rolls to clear a Mission stage by matching the correct success icon from their dice with the needed icons on the stage. Additionally, a player can use any two of the same color successes to achieve one success for another color.
In all the chaos of fast-talking your way past guards, tossing fireballs, and flashing blades while getting the job done, injuries are bound to happen. A player can wipe out one injury die roll result by using any one success. But if they trade too many successes that way, then they won’t be able to get the successes they need to complete a stage within the three rolls they are allowed. And if they can’t wipe out an injury, those start to stack up, knocking shadowrunners—and their dice—out of the current mission, potentially losing them for a turn. So it’s a fine push-your-luck balance.
Once you’ve started a stage of a Mission, you must continue rolling until you’re done. But when a stage is complete, you can decide to pull out—sometimes, the pressure comes too hot, and it's time for duck-and-cover. Or maybe you feel you’ve got this despite the injuries, despite the odds, and you push on through. You might see victory … or you might get half your team injured or even killed, and you’ll spend the next turn (at least) rebuilding.
Knowing when to walk away is just as important as when to push. If you manage complete the mission, you’ll get the nuyen payout that will help you bring in better shadowrunners and more gear on future jobs. And of course all of this will lead to the big run of the Final Mission. Check out one of them, the Rescue a Ritual Sacrifice job against Aztechnology.
Brutal, right? Not to mention the brinkmanship with the other players. Push too soon, and you might not have the dice to make it through; both of the the six Mage and six Hacker successes are tough nuts to crack. And if you fail, you’re left to rebuild for a turn—time you may not have. But wait too long, and another player will sneak in front of you, and with the right set of runners, equipment, and a little luck, they’ll snag your victory from you!
That’s just a quick walk through of Shadowrun: Sprawl Ops. There’s much more to experience and enjoy in this unique combination of worker placement and push-your-luck tactics!

When you back this campaign you are also subject to some serious stretch-goal mojo, or as we like to call it, SWAG GOALS!

After the campaign ends we'll be using a pledge manager called CrowdOX. There will be algorithms in place to calculate the absolute best shipping rates we can give. Since this project is EU/AU/CA friendly, we'll be ensuring the same service in delivery as before. EU/AU/CA backers will take a while longer than the rest but you won't have to pay VAT/TAXES and that's important. We promise to do our very best to give you the BEST shipping rates possible.
We cannot give you shipping estimates at this time, as we do not know what will be in the final package (stretch goals and more). What we can tell you is that we will be shipping from the US, from within Canada and Estonia. Shipping rates are usually between $8-$16 USD pending the location from the point of origin. Outlier shipping rates may be as high as $28. We will do our best to come as close to the estimates or below.
You can help make some extra cred for all of us here by spreading the word! Here's some mods and enhancements to help!

Risks and challenges
We've come a long way and have learned a lot about Kickstarter, but static still jolts in whenever it can.
The chip truth is, there are certain risks that we can't do eliminate, even with the absolute best tech in the world. Drek like delays with the Lone Star hats working customs, creatures emerging from metaplanar warps—you know, the usual things outside of a runner's control.
What we can assure you is that we have experience working with our partners, handling licenses, and learning from our past projects.
Lynnvander Studios has worked on several board games both on and off of Kickstarter, ensuring that the quality meets our exacting standards. We can deliver the best game possible to you. Lynnvander won't be handling fulfillment, but they'll be there every step of the way to lend their support and expertise to make this project work.
The project coming to Kickstarter is complete, with manufacturers already lined up, rules play tested and ready to roll, and art assets finalized. We've planned for all the eventualities that we can, and we can assure you that when this project funds, we will deliver everything to you.
With your help spreading the word on Facebook, Twitter, and your favorite social media outlets we can create awesome board games for everyone to enjoy!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
