A 22 page comic, vibrantly colored and rendered, combining the skills of John Fleming, Collette Turner and J-Skipper into a story set in the near future. We did this once, and hope to do it again. Better yet, we've all leveled up since then.
This series is a lighthearted look at the world, gently seasoned with a little ultra-violence. The first issue started with three young women as they deal with the threat posed by a brotherhood of ninjas, seemingly led by an old ally, but things got complicated, and now... giant robot!
The first issue is done, printed and most items are on their way to backers. The second issue, well, pages are in the works. Some are already inked, colored, lettered and ready to print. We're planning a limited first printing, the number of issues in that printing depending on how well this Kickstarter does. This comic, this variant of our first printing will not be exclusive to Kickstarter, but other copies will be rare.
If you missed our first Kickstarter, this is the next best place to hop aboard.
We set the goal at $3000. After the overwhelming support we received last time (400% funded) we figured maybe we could raise the the bar, so as to cover some of the costs involved with the hiring guest artists (we want the best people involved).
Our real goal isn't a matter of making money, though, we want to connect with the comic community that's had a hand in creating some amazing projects, and with your help, make this series better. So far, we're off to a great start, as for our stretch goals, they're going to be focusing on giving you the best product we can.
John is a Canadian writer, letterer, educator and all around agent of chaos. He isn't really sure what shame feels like, dances in public and loves playing devil's advocate. He's written everything from novels to absurdist theater, but comic books, that's exciting.
Born and educated in the UK, Collette studied 3D animation and dabbled in wildlife art before falling in love with comics. She's been stuck ever since. She's currently taking the reigns on the Rothic title Southern Nightgown and still dabbles doing art for a number of indie comics.
The coloring figure known is J-Skipper is on the rise, doing work for a number of different publishers and independent creators. He (actually a ‘they’) is a very talented set of brothers. Their colors are vibrant, perfect for this project. Lets pretend this is what they look like, cause kittens.

'Next Time' Mini Print.
So, how does the story after the first issue continue? This Mini-print completed by guest artist Hon Bun Leung is going to provide the best clue, an awesome lead into the second issue, sent out to all backers who've donated at $20 and higher tiers.
Completed back cover variant.
If we can raise this much it covers our printing costs and a helps with the costs of our colorist. More than that, it provides some wiggle room developing the comic further. Collette is going to come up with a richer, more detailed back cover. This back 'B' cover will not be appearing on any other future single issues, and would really make this a cool collectable.
In issue, additional story page.
So, we're hoping we can sneak in one extra little page of special content into the comic.
Variant 'B' Cover
This will be a variant cover by Mike Debalfo (Grimm Fairy Tales, Wonderland, Michael Turner's Soulfire, Lady Death, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and other stuff...) At this point we're going to have him do a variant cover for us, colour it, print it and provided a copy to all backers who've donated at $100 and higher tiers. This will be a very small/limited print run.
An extra collectable, and one more way we can say thank you.
Last time we did this we created a very cool collectable/variant with art by Mirka Andolfo, we only printed 60 in all for public distribution. In the end, we even numbered those sixty books too. At this point we're going to number the Mike Debalfo variant this time.
No two will be the same.
Stuff will happen...
Copy of the first printing of Issue 1 (A Cover) - $10
Copy of the first printing blank cover - $20
Copy of the numbered first printing Mirka Andolfo Variant (60 printed for public distribution) - $250
(When adding any add ons to your rewards please message to confirm that what you want is available as they'll all be in limited numbers. Can't be responsible if this isn't done.)
Risks and challenges
The comic is coming along nicely. Barring extraordinary circumstances regarding health or something along those lines. Unless issues crop with our intended printing company or postage rates, which we don't see as likely, there's nothing backers should be concerned with.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
