Books in Hong Kong

Dear dedicated Cultists of Cthulhu,

I held off sending the update over the weekend because I expected an update from the printers on the departure of the books. Since I am still waiting for an update from them all I know is that the books are in Hong Kong getting ready to depart. Without further info I didn't want to wait any longer before publishing this update. Work has continued on a number of things though.

  • The Premium Temple Edition books are about to enter production for our top backers.
  • Final versions of the PDFs for the Keeper Rulebook and Investigator Handbook were made available.
  • Pulp Cthulhu art has been coming in, and the book has had some layout work done for the sections with completed art.

The second shipment items
Items like the Card Decks, Book Plates, Bookmarks, Stratigraph, and similar are ready to print. Once we have paid the massive shipping expenses on the first shipment of items we will then start spending money on the second shipment of items. The dice and Innsmouth Gold are all done and in the warehouse and will be part of the second shipment. In short, we sincerely wish we had enough money to print and ship everything all at once, but that just isn't the case. We need to do this in two phases as we manage expenses and revenue. An important part of that is the revenue we will get from the regular sale of the Keeper Rulebook, Investigator handbook, Keeper's Pack, Petersen Guide, and Nameless Horrors after the backers have been sent theirs from the regional warehouses.

As always, thank you for your patience and support.

@William, it was mentioned somewhere forget where. Just log into your Chaosium account and go to your previous purchases downloads and you can get the latest versions.

"Final versions of the PDFs for the Keeper Rulebook and Investigator Handbook were made available."

I must have missed this message, because the only notification I have received regarding PDFs was the June 2015 update. Did anyone else receive an email notification regarding the "final versions"?

Can not wait to get my hands on these bad boys :)

I'm in the same boat as Rory, I've never had a notification that I paid for the Petersen Guide to be upgraded to hardcover. No email, no Kickstarter notice, nada! Just the Paypal statement...

Has anyone done a final survey to check addresses yet? Also, I sent a paypal fee through to get hold of a hardback edition of the Peterson Guide - but I'm not sure I ever received any official confirmation of the upgrade. Any way of checking? Thanks.

Which update, or who sent an email, making the final versions of the PDFs for the Keeper Rulebook and Investigator Handbook available? Latest Keeper version I have is from June 2015 and the Investigators from November 2014.

I may have missed the relevant update, but a while back there was a message regarding ordering (or preordering, as the case may be) a copy of the Petersen Guide, with the idea that an opportunity would open up shortly. Is that still going to be available?

ANIBAL: If you would like to do that, please contact Dustin@chaosium.com and he can get you a price on the shipping.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

If the dice are at the warehouse, is possible for us to pay the shipping cost and have it sent to us?

Thank you for ripping off the bandaid and giving us an update even when you don't have the updates you expected.

Thanks for the update, guys! I'm really excited to get these books, but I have the PDFs and I'd be fine with waiting for a single shipment if it'll save you enough money to be worth the bookkeeping.

I don't care if mine comes before retail. Sell books, stay in business. I Kickstart for exclusives, not to save time. If you Kickstart something hoping to get it fast, you clearly haven't done your research.

Perhaps you could set up a pledge manager to let people choose one shipment of two.

While I'd prefer to get my copy before retail, I've waited long enough that I'm not fussed, and I've got PDF's to use anyway.
If it's a matter of getting it to retail, to afford to pay for the second shipment, then so be it, go for it - as long as the majority of backers agree anyway.

I'd rather get my copy late, than have you guys run out of money (again!) and end up never shipping it out.

I would say make sure the backers get it first. The detractors need no more fuel.

I'm with Phil on that one, get 7 on the shelves ASAP.

Honestly at this stage I'm personally more concerned about you guys keeping stable than getting my stuff ahead of retail, no objection with 7 getting on shelves as soon as possible
