50 year veteran stage actress Margaret Shryer takes to the screen in this short film, Looking Past You. Miriam is 85 and she's pissed off. Tired of being ignored, dismissed, and placated, Looking Past You centers on a pivotal day when it dawns on Miriam that there is an upside to being "invisible" and turns the tables, playing out just how much she can get away with when no one seems to notice. As her new found pastime gains momentum, so does the boldness of her petty crimes and an escalation of encounters that explore the price we pay for looking past each other.
Principle photography is slated for June, 2011. Running length: 14 minutes.
About 90% of the project is being made through in-kind contributions, however, we need to raise money for the following: Lighting package, liability insurance, location fees, post production costs.
