When new kid Levi falls for Rebecca, a tech-savvy introvert, layers begin to fall away revealing truths that could consume them both.
"Consumed" is a USC thesis film written by Charles Thomas and directed by Dustin Jacobs. It follows the developing relationship of Levi and Rebecca in a world of computer-dependency, self-denial and an obsession with the flesh.
Levi leaves his oppressive family life behind to start over in a new town. But when he falls for Rebecca, a tech-savvy introvert, layers begin to fall away revealing truths that could consume them both.
Sick of his humdrum life and oppressive mother, Levi Maxwell leaves in the middle of the night looking to start over in a town a hundred miles away. He enrolls in a new university and begins the process of beginning anew.
This includes making new friends, and the first one he makes is a young lady named Rebecca. Levi’s mother never liked her son playing with computers, so he’s a little awkward with them. Rebecca, on the other hand, is a technology hound, so she volunteers to help him with his studies.
Very quickly the friendship blossoms into much more. Rebecca, however, has a problem – as much of an expert she is with computers, she’s completely the opposite with living in the real world. As a result, she’s always had trouble committing to others.
Rebecca has a plan to change that.
Levi will soon find out what her “plan” entails. When that happens, everything will change, and there’s no going back.

A letter from our Director
Over the past six years, I've been dedicated to putting one film on screen. That film is "Consumed." What drew me to the script was its eery realism. Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Boy never gets girl back. Though the script has gone through many changes, one thing has remained the same. The biological dynamic between men and women is what brings them together as well as pulls them apart. Its exploration of the current state of society is also something that drew me to the script, as technological dependency is a very real issue. This is a character study as well as a sort of social experiment in the sense that this film will reflect society at large. A university is the perfect back drop for that. People from all walks of life come together in a learning environment, and for most, this is where life truly begins. For Levi, this is where he finds out who he is and what he is capable of. College is a launch pad for who you are to become. As a film student at USC, I hope to become a professional filmmaker, and with your help I can achieve three goals. 1 - "Consumed" will finally be brought to the big screen. 2 - I will be able to graduate from USC. 3 - I will have a film I can take into the next phase of my life, which is the professional filmmaking world. Help me, Levi and Rebecca take our journey into the unknown.
-Dustin Jacobs, Director
Why we need your help?
Your generous donations are an essential part of making "Consumed" a reality. With these funds, we will feed our cast and crew, rent our equipment, pay for our locations, be able to hire a professional special effects make-up artist, safely and efficiently store and transport our equipment, and make the best movie we can make in post production. Our cast and crew are generously volunteering their time, so it is up to us (and you!) to help them be the best filmmakers they can be.
