Project Anora is a horror video game for the Nintendo Switch that will be developed by a close group of friends who all enjoy art and video games. Project Anora is a horror experience filled with mystery, suspense, puzzle-solving, and story telling. All of the game's content will be original, including the sound. We want this game to be influenced by our favorite games and movies. Everyone on our team is dedicated to creating a world filled with memorable experiences. We've worked together on many different projects and have finally settled on an idea we love and are inspired to complete. We've already put a lot of work into this project but would all love to be able to work on this full time! Some of the men and women working on Project Anora already have full time jobs, and would love nothing more than to pour our heart and souls into a video game instead! The funding of this game will ensure we provide 100% of our working time to this project. We are also happy to inform you that the content you see in our video was put together in 2 months, with a lot more we didn't want to spoil! We're excited about what we can produce in one year!
You will spend a lot of time in "The House." This is where a majority of the game will take place, and you will get to explore both in and outside of the house. The house has a lot of hidden rooms and secrets, the more adventurous you are, the more your mind will delve into the mystery surrounding Anora.
You will also get to explore a section dedicated to a forgotten cemetery. The models are all made using Maya, as illustrated on this screenshot. The project still has a lot of work ahead of it, it's going to be a special time when we get the chance to REALLY work on the game's models and texture work.
Project Anora will tell its tale in different ways. I'm glad to say we can reward players for their exploration, and you'll notice a lot of the things in this game are there to tell a story, everything you see in the game will have a purpose.
One part of the game has you exploring an underground bunker. The bunker has been extremely fun to create, and we're not finished with it! This screenshot isn't exactly up to date, but it provides insight on what you can expect to encounter in the game.
Project Anora will be heavily inspired by our past experiences with video games, movies, and other art forms. We'll pay homage to some of our favorites, and add easter eggs for you to find! Remember, we'll reward you for your exploration, don't be afraid to look behind every nook and cranny.
Project Anora is produced by extremely talented people. We have artists producing content for this game to ensure that every bit of it is original. The drawings, sketches, and paintings for example, are all very real, a lot of it will be sent to some of our backers.
One of the goals is to encourage exploration. If you want a deeper sense of the story, paying attention to detail will be very important, and rewarding.
Here's an earlier shot of when the house interior was being being put together. We've come a lot farther now, but I wanted to show that we are committed in creating an engaging experience. This is the house's 1st floor, and a lot of it wasn't shown to help build mystery. The house has 2 floors, an attic, and a basement. All of these main areas in the house will be accessible, if you dare.
We're always actively working on making the game better, nailing the looks and style are definitely important, and although some areas of the game may not look like much now, I wanted to express that a lot of the areas in the game that exist now, are definitely going to be reworked to look even better!
Creating a horror experience involves a lot of different elements, like lighting. Not every part of the game will include dark corners. The game will surprise you with different methods including lighting effects!
Who is Anora? Anora is your old child hood friend, and she has gone missing. News outlets who covered the story don't seem to understand or know where she is. Did she really run away? Was she murdered? Is she still in the house?
Risks and challenges
We have many talented individuals working on Project Anora. Everyone involved has experience in their roles, and are fully committed to learning more to produce a truly polished experience. Currently, we have many people working different roles including:
Game Artist: Otoniel V. (Designs the in-game 3D models/textures)
Graphic Designer: Damaris A. (Designing textures, and other items for commercial use.)
Programmer: Alberto N. (Working behind the scenes to make all this possible in the Unity Engine.)
Audio Engineer: Johnny V. (Working on original sound effects and music.)
We are currently looking for another individual for animating and 3D modeling. Project Anora is a horror title, and will be focused on visual/audio delivery to create a truly chilling atmosphere.
We will work hard to provide a polished experience, and will need to study up on animation, and acquire the talent to achieve this.
We have an audio engineer on the team, but sound will require a lot of focus as we believe it is going to be one of the most important elements in our game.
We are drawing inspiration from all our favorite horror experiences which include different media. Our goal is to keep the player engaged in the game using different methods.
We're going to work very hard to scare you. Our goal is to intensify the experience enough to make you put the game down to catch your breath, or take a walk to settle those nerves. We also want to make the game interesting enough to bring you back to it!
