LingoZING! is a revolutionary App that makes learning a new language easy and fun. We use digital comics & graphic novels with an interactive and intuitive multi-language interface.  So many wish to learn a language, half of the world, yet all the methods to date are still - so hard....whereas learning a language in the context of a fun story at your own pace - - that's a whole different story!

We are in public Beta mode and launching beginning of February with 25 exciting titles already produced in 3 languages. We will be feeding the app with a cluster of titles every month. We have titles for all ages, levels, and all interests so children, adolescents and adults can learn a language.

Our Goal:  we are using Kickstarter to raise money to 'Lingozize'  six (more) titles into English, French and Brazilian Portuguese. Here is your chance to be a part of this learning revolution and participate in this innovative and exciting cultural exchange.

Your purchase $ can be used to buy any title at a discount and valid as of day of launch  - It's Xmas and New Year!  Give a set of titles to your kids, colleagues, or friends - open the door to a new language, to new possibilities, to new horizons.

The app itself is free. You just pay for the content. Here's how it works.

You can follow the story in two languages as actors read the lines in both. Use the language slider to change from one language to the other. Our voice recognition feature lets you test your own pronunciation as you go.

Whether you are starting from scratch or are past graduation,LingoZING! Provides a fun new way to learn and practice - less you forget!

The benefits of speaking more than one language are so many! Opens you to new career possibilities, scales up income, enables thinking and perspective, broadens horizons, helps with dyslexia - and even defends against certain mental disorders.

On IOS iPhones iPads/Tablets - Android smartphones and tablets via Google Play.

USA The largest comic book market in the world where people from all cultures want to learn to speak English, while many US students are eager to learn a second language and travel, see France, go to Brazil! - LingoZING will ease the way!

France Most of the French-speaking world wish to learn English. The  French treat graphic novels and comics as the seventh art, and would love to (finally) learn English using something fun like LingoZING!

Brazil The fourth largest English language learning market, they are also avid consumers of comics and graphic novels. They too want to speak English or French. LingoZING will help!

So join us, discover a new favorite comic or graphic novel, learn a new language, and bring the world a little closer.

By supporting the campaign you will have access to over 25 titles, and a feed of new titles every month, along with exciting extras and additional LingoZING! features! Purchase of titles is valid for gifting and you can do so whenever you want.

1. ZACH WEINERSMITH and Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (SMBC).

Zach Weinersmith is an American cartoonist, best known for his webcomic Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (SMBC). Recently, he collaborated with the French cartoonist Boulet on a book for children. He also runs the science comedy festival, BAHFest.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (SMBC) is a popular webcomic that is updated daily. It features few recurring characters or storylines and has no set format. Recurring themes in SMBC include atheism, God, superheroes, romance, dating, science, research, parenting and the meaning of life.

2. PENELOPE BAGIEU and Joséphine

Pénélope Bagieu was born in Paris in 1982 and caught the public’s eye a few years later thanks to her blog entitled My Life is Absolutely Fascinating, where she recounted a thousand and one things about her daily life using her sense of sharp humor and cartoons.

The blog drew an enormous audience (60,000 visits per day). Was she just a phenomenon of the blogsphere? Nope. Pénélope has a diploma from the l’École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, as well as one from the Central Saint Martins School, a prestigious School of Art in London and so has several strings to her bow. She took part in a number of advertising campaigns, designed a lingerie collection in animation for the magazine Fémina and created the character of Joséphine with albums released by Jean-Claude Gawsewitch Publishing. She even plays the drums!

Next Pénélope Bagieu threw herself into writing a long-form story Cadavre Exquis (Gorgeous Bodies). Her style developed; biting humor, a world that is both modern yet enchanting, all wrapped up in a well-rounded elegant look that stands out from anything else! The road for Pénélope Bagieu is paved with gold……

Joséphine is a thirty-something year old who lives in her flat with her cat Bradpitt. She has no husband or steady boyfriend but what she does have is a wry sense of humor, a family, a sister and very funny adventures at work and in love.

3. FLORIAN QUITTARD (Author) &  ANAÏS BARNABÉ (Artist) and La Pluie des Corps (The Rain of Corpses)

Florian Quittard has made short movies including L’Oreille du fantôme (The Ghost’s Ear). He also writes films, series, cartoons and is planning a novel in the near future.

Anaiïs Bernabé graduated from Emile Cohl School, Lyon in 2008. She worked for two years with Ubisoft as a character designer on Assassin’s Creed. She has illustrated two children’s books as well as being the designer on La Pluie des Corps.

The story in La Pluie des Corps (The Rain of Corpses) opens on a lifeless, motionless, grey autumn day. A rain of naked men pierces the clouds and pours like a curse on an isolated remote village….

4. ISABELLE MELANÇON & MEGAN LAVEY-HEATON and Namesake

Isabelle Melançon is a French Canadian cardigan-clad creator and artist obsessed with fairy tales and lemonade. Isabelle’s original language is French. She learned English as an adult through work and thanks to patient friends. She wants to learn Spanish and Korean in the future.

Megan Lavey-Heaton is an American creator and journalist armed with a fountain pen and a love of history, coffee and tea. Megan is a native English speaker but hopes to learn French to read all the books and comics Isabelle constantly brags about.

Namesakes have the power to travel to fairy tale worlds: Alices go to Wonderland, Wendys go to Neverland, etc. Emma Crewe has fallen into the wrong world and into the middle of a conspiracy that was centuries in the making. Her sister, Elaine, learns that she can bring stories to life. Can she guide Emma home? With the help of a group of miscast fairy-tale heroes, it’s up to the Crewes to find everyone's happy ending.

5. GILLES LE-COZ and Mourir Nuit Gravement à La Santé (Dying is Seriously Bad for Your Health)

Gilles has had a pencil in his hand ever since he was a little boy and knew immediately what he wanted to do when he grew up; become a designer! He trained at Graphic Art School and took evening classes with a teacher from Les Beaux Arts. He started working as a Layout man in an Ad agency, moving up to Art Director. From a young age he was fascinated by Franco-Belgian and American comics. He decided to set up his own comics’ project and joined an online workshop that put together experienced authors. This is where his adventure truly begins…

In Mourir Nuit Gravement à La Santé (Dying is Seriously Bad for Your Health), Mr Jean-Paul Gratin is dead and buried. As he lies in his coffin, he begins the ultimate journey. Our dear departed meets a strange guide who leads him into a crazy world, laced with Tim Burton-like undertones.

In this insane world where black humour rules… can they save their souls?  Don’t bet on it… because disturbing forces are at work…

6. MINNA SUNDBERG  and Stand Still. Stay Silent

Minna Sundberg is a Finnish artist who was born in 1990 and has worked full time as a webcomic creator ever since graduating with a Bachelor's degree from the Aalto University's Department of Graphic Design. She's a solitary person who enjoys working on her projects by herself and is fond of Nordic mythologies, cultures and languages, nature, and video games.

In Stand Still. Stay Silent a great illness ended the old world 90 years ago and tiny pockets of civilization in the Nordic nations hold on to existence in rigid isolation and fear of the contaminated world outside. A small, poorly funded ragtag expedition group with members from each nation is sent on a research mission. This is a mostly light-hearted adventure story with friendship, Nordic mythology and magic, mixed with some drama and horror.

We have set a goal to produce 6 comic books in a minimum of 2 languages.

Costs: 60,000 pounds.

£10,000 pounds for 2 languages per title, which includes:

- transcription - translation - lettering - changes of formats - graphic costs - producer supervisor - title/thumbnail/cover writing costs - uploading both audio and visual - QC both visual, audio and the rest that it takes.

After closure of the campaign we will commence all the above production with delivery of the first three languages in English, French and Brazilian Portuguese by May 2017. Should we exceed our goal, we will expand  into Spanish a month after finalizing production on the first three. Thereafter, other languages with follow at regular intervals.

Just because LingoZING! is fun and innovative does not mean it comes without serious endorsement. Some of the world’s foremost pedagogical institutions, linguists, as well as individual teachers working in small town schools have given us their support. Examples:

LingoZING! are official partners with the Institut Français de la Langue Française (96 entities and over 800 Alliances Françaises with 160 employees in 136 countries).   The Institut Français is France's academic arm, their mandate is to teach and maintain the French language world-wide, and their support reaches far beyond a mere seal of approval.

Neil Cohn, Ph.D. Institute for Neural Computation/Department Of Cognitive ScienceI am excited to endorse LingoZING! as an exciting new language learning app that utilizes the powerful context of comics.….

Professor Penelope Gardner-Chloros Department of Applied Linguistics and Communication, Birkbeck, University of London: "LingoZING! is an exciting application of new technologies to reinforce language learning…

OTTO PFERSMANN CHAIR IN LEGAL PHILOSOPHY AND COMPARATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL LAW: "…I was truly astonished by the sophistication in conception and simplicity of use for learning languages in a playful way, yet with all means of getting both the meaning of sentences and the acquisition of vocabulary. In my opinion, this is a truly wonderful tool to teach and convey knowledge to all ages and all people. …

Paola Baldo, English language Teacher Instituto Superiore Antonio Scarpa: "I have been teaching English at High School for more than twenty years to students aged from 14 to 18. I believe the LingoZING app. is a very effective teaching/learning tool, both in the classroom and for individual students, especially considering the importance of mastering a foreign language today. I also think it would be an amazing tool for my students with dyslexia or other  learning difficulties that mainly affect the development of literacy and language related skills.  I am impressed by the sophistication of your App. and the simplicity of its use.

Risks and challenges

The technology and build of the app are currently in Beta, and will be tested by the Institut Francais, France's Government branch whose mandate is to preserve the French language.

We have already produced over 30 titles in three languages so there is no risk in execution and delivery.

This is not an appeal for funding the app - but for funding additional cool content - content YOU want to use and read. Only Apple left to approve - and we expect that to be smooth.

The challenge will be to introduce NEW talent that will appeal to global readers! All Authors who feel (and confirmed by those in the know) they have talent - send us your work!
