ARRO takes place three years after most of North America was wiped out by a gene-altering disease in the drinking water. The story follows a team hired by the American Research and Recovery Organization to travel across the southeastern United States and scout what's left of the former new world.
Hi, we're Tara and Ali. We've been creating comics together for seven years now. And since the beginning, ARRO has been our heart. It started with Tara doodling Jon, our long-haired leading man. From there, we started world-building together. We spent hours in coffee shops, developing backstories, researching disease patters and drawing maps. Since then, we've self-published a half-dozen books, contributed to multiple anthologies, gotten married, earned college degrees, moved cities, built careers, and raised puppies and children. And all the while, we've steadily continued to create ARRO.
Now that we've finished the first three issues of ARRO, as well as two mini-chapters, we're looking to pull them all together into one perfect-bound, full-color graphic novel, printed beautifully on French Paper: Speckle-toned Madero Beach 140# for the cover, 100% post-consumer Neenah PC100 80# for issues 1-3, and a crisp accent of Starch Mint 70 lb for the minis. We have a quote from Wonderpress in Chattanooga, TN lined up and ready to go. We just need the dough to get it done. Here's a sneak peek from the test run:
Our first real run will be numbered, and you can be among the first to get a copy by contributing to this campaign! Heck, we'll even sign it for you if you're into that kind of thing. Thanks for supporting independent comics — you're a real sweetheart.

Risks and challenges
Quality printing is often a challenge for comics creators (especially in full color!), but because we already have a relationship with a great printer, this won't hold us up.
The only real challenge might be if we're lucky enough to surpass our funding goal by quite a bit, it may delay delivery by a week or two. We'll be sure to let everyone know if that's the case, though!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
