New levels // Website // THE OCTOBER EDITION

Dear friends,

There are 15 days to October 6 - the 10 year anniversary of the war. Far From Afghanistan: The October Edition will stream online beginning on this day for one week only. Sign up for your invitation to watch.

Thank you to all who have contributed so far. We are on our way to our goal! With your help, we will see this project through. Your support has inspired us to offer new incentives to further generate support for this movement.

We'd first like to share with you some early looks at the designs for the Far From Afghanistan postcards by of the talented Eric P. Gulliver's postcard, which any backer of $11+ will receive.

In case you missed them, we've added some new levels courtesy of our FFA team in the last few days. FFA filmmaker Travis Wilkerson contributed one-of-a-kind collections of his works, FFA editors Pacho Velez and Robert Todd offered signed DVDs of their directorial efforts, while FFA producer Steve Holmgren put forth signed DVDs of films he has produced, including Matt Porterfield's Putty Hill and Marie Losier's The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye. Additionally, we've added 10 more copies of John Gianvito's titles to his level.

Today we are announcing another new level. For a contribution of $150, you will receive an extremely rare 11'x17' poster of John Gianvito's celebrated documentary Profit Motive and the Whispering Wind (2007). "Gianvito has created an unconventional landscape film, one that recalls the strategies of certain avant-gardists... while at the same delivering a bracingly unique experience, one that leaves viewers awestruck by its rigorous simplicity." (Michael Sicinski, CinemaScope).

More exciting levels will be revealed throughout the week. Please continue to check back and spread the word to your friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues.
