Love this project. Shared it with my mother and she loved it as well. We're both proud to be backers and I'm already thinking of ways to display and share these amazing works of art!

@Netobvious great observation! The book and map are based on the Gregorian Calendar :)

A quick observation with regards to the date on the Map of Azzaz. I think it says 1499 B.C. (or C.E. for those elitist academics). Is this date based on the Islamic Calendar that is about 600 years behind our Gregorian Calendars in use today? The Hausa Kingdoms in Nigeria were considered Islamized around 1450 A.D. so I am guessing your fictional date aligns closely enough with real historic dates.

@Roye Awesome! This is one of the most beautiful ideas I've seen and I can't wait to read it. But you actually had me at black people in teal and gold, lol.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments!

@Latasha I'm considering adding it as a stretch goal. But need to focus on hitting our main goal first :)

Backed! Shipping is pricey but worth it to get some unique pulp off the ground.

The best part is that Queen Amina of Zazzau is a historic queen that inspired this Malika story.
