Malika - Fallen Queen Part One. A 136 Page Graphic Novel
Malika, warrior queen and military commander of the 15th-century West African Empire, Azzaz, has been flung into the year 2025. After years of moving in the shadows, Malika is forced out of hiding by The Olon Jin — ancient sorcerers imprisoned for centuries because of their obsession with dark magic. In their sights is the Fire and Frost stone — a relic that holds the combined power of two legendary dragons. On her journey to Egypt to retrieve the stone, Malika uncovers a sinister plot that predates even her 500-year-old legend as Warrior, Queen and Hero of the Azzazian Empire. As Malika battles both her past and present, she runs into Eliza Mantel, a young girl with hidden powers whose mind could tip the scales in an ancient war that threatens to end humanity.

Previous Graphic Novels In The Series
Malika - Fallen Queen Part One is a follow up to the first saga — Warrior Queen — of the award-winning series. Although recommended for understanding certain easter eggs, reading the prequel graphic novels in the Warrior Queen saga is NOT required to enjoy Fallen Queen.
New readers will be able to jump right into and enjoy Malika - Fallen Queen part One while current fans of the series will appreciate the thread we continue to weave in Malika's adventures within the connected YouNeek YouNiverse.
The Malika series showcases the majesty and awe that is West Africa (past, present & future). Story, costumes, character design, set pieces, etc. serve to highlight a robust diversity of culture and tradition based on real history.
The Warrior Queen Saga (Historical Fantasy) follows Malika’s journey as her Empire, Azzaz, and the Ming Dynasty clash. Breathtaking fantastical elements (magic, relics, and dragons) are introduced via ancient mythological artifacts and beings called The Divine Ones.
The Fallen Queen Saga (Urban Fantasy) thrusts Malika 500 years into the future as she begins yet another journey. A journey where she uncovers an evil plot that predates even her 15th-century legend as Warrior, Queen and Hero of the Azzazian Empire.

YouNeek YouNiverse Reading Guide
This Is The YouNeek YouNiverse Bundle! (Highly Recommended)
The best way YouNeek YouNiverse would be to call it the “MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) of graphic novels” Get all the graphic novels in the YouNiverse to see how they all connect!
"On the battlefield, Malika can take out five rebels with a single swing of her sword (and a jaguar with a well-placed kick). And she’s just as assured when facing questioning from her council, though readers also see her struggle with how best to show strength, which comes to a head with the arrival of the king of Atala, Malika’s secret husband, who possesses supernatural wind-based powers. Okupe balances exposition, plot progression, and action within each chapter, providing a smooth introduction to the machinations and mythologies of this world (interspersed notes touch on the real-life inspirations behind Azzaz). Befitting the story of a fierce, confident queen who rules from the front lines as much as from her throne, Kalu’s cinematic artwork is dominated by battle scenes but also highlights the empire’s landscape of sand, rocks, and forests, as well as the cultural diversity of its people."
"...None of the independent books really caught my eye until I noticed Malika... ....We need to bring attention to those, like Okupe, who are doing it right and support them in their endeavors to show those with the will to look, how massive and incredible and diverse the world is."

As humankind forges ahead, culture becomes knowledge, knowledge becomes history and history becomes mythology. Until Iyanu. A teenage orphan girl with no recollection of her past who suddenly discovers that she has hidden powers that rival the divine ones themselves. As Iyanu tries to come to terms with her new abilities, the people of Yorubaland become aware of an ancient evil that has reawakened. And all that’s left between them and destruction are the memories locked away in the mind of Iyanu.
