About

Allie Rae Proprietary Comfort Technology:

Our footwear is comprised of high quality and long lasting material that brings cushion to the sandal without bulk. In addition, our patent pending heel design relieves pressure from the heel with every step. Visit our website at allierae.com to find more details about our patent including diagrams and sketches.

After a year and a half of prototypes and research, we're ready to launch Allie Rae Footwear and bring jobs to a hurting community in Roatan, Honduras and a great product to market. The funds raised through our Kickstarter campaign will be used to purchase machinery, materials, skill train and get our product into your hands.

Wear great sandals, help change the world!

We're partnering with a community on the island of Roatan, Honduras, and are using our footwear to create jobs for people in need.  Driven to build an intersection between commerce and social change, we are assembling a manufacturing facility, teaching new skills, and bringing economic interdependence.

Our Team:

Jamie Rivadenerya: (center) Born and raised in California, Jamie graduated from Westmont College with a double major in Business and Psychology. A natural entrepreneur, and gifted with a creative mind that enjoys improving products and increasing efficiency, Jamie has combined the comfort of a flip flop and the style of a sandal. Having a deep conviction that helping others is priority, she has taken this opportunity to help create jobs for a community in need.

Holly Malmsten: (left) Holly grew up in Houston, Texas. With a master's degree in clinical counseling from Denver Seminary, Holly has a heart for helping people to overcome the obstacles from their past that have hindered their full potential. After a missions trip to Roatan, Honduras, her heart was captured by the people in the community and she felt driven to invest in their lives. Catching Jamie's vision to produce an excellent product while helping a poverty stricken community, Holly was instrumental in connecting her with the beautiful community in Roatan and has become her business partner. It's an incredible blessing for Holly to play a role in offering hope and change for people that she dearly loves.

Selina Doran, (right) the current intern at Allie Rae serves as the personal assistant to Jamie Rivadeneyra.  Originally from Washington State, Selina loves green tea, acoustic guitars, heartfelt conversations and the pouring rain.  Currently a senior at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, she is ecstatic to be apart of such a great team that is providing hope and changing lives.

Why We Need Your Help:

Kickstarter is an "all-or-nothing" campaign, which means if we don't reach our goal we don't receive any money and all funds are returned to donors. Without your help we won't be able to launch our company, buy the necessary equipment and materials to set up our factory, train local artisans, or provide employment. Your support is essential!

Our 10:10:15 Campaign:

We are trying to find ten thousand people to donate ten dollars or more, so that we will be able to create jobs for fifteen families on the island.

Our Closed Loop, Sustainable Model:

This model shows how our footwear will help bring sustainability to the Honduran community of Oak Ridge. By using local sourcing, creating jobs and giving back to the community through community development the lives of many families will be enriched.

We Invite You To Join Us:

As we run after our mission of providing families with employment while bringing a great product to the market, we welcome your involvement and are excited for you to be a part of changing lives.  All donors will be kept updated through periodic news letters.  Learn more by visiting our website at allierae.com

Risks and challenges

Some difficulties could arise due to working in a community that does not have previous experience with shoe making. However, in order to maximize our success we have decided to approach job creation through a 2 phase process.

Phase 1 will be utilizing the expertise and experience of an established shoe factory in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. With the help of our "sister" shoe factory, which Jamie has visited 3 times and who made our prototypes, we will begin manufacturing with experienced artisans. A handful of people from Roatan will join the artisans in San Pedro Sula and begin a 4-5 month formal training process. Once they are thoroughly trained and are confident and capable of executing every task needed to produce a high quality sandal they will return to the island of Roatan.

Phase 2 will begin when our well trained locals return from San Pedro Sula at which time they will begin training others while producing minimal orders. Slowly we will move the sandal orders from the established factory in San Pedro Sula to the new factory in Roatan. Within 1-2 years we will be manufacturing 100% of the footwear on the island of Roatan with "new" but well trained artisans.
